Hey everyone! Fans are buzzing, trying to figure out if Cardi B is throwing shade at Megan Thee Stallion and if there’s some secret beef between the two.
Cardi B recently announced that she’s dropping her album soon. Although we’ve been hearing this for years, this time she’s very adamant it will be out this year. She took to Twitter to say that albums released during the summer don’t do well.
Interestingly, Megan Thee Stallion just released her self-titled album on June 28th. Someone tweeted at Cardi, “The album is definitely not coming in summer. An album in autumn and winter will have much less chances of getting viral hits and will earn much less streams and sales. They said six plus years of waiting is worth at least a good release date.” Cardi shot back with, “Please tell me which album has been doing good this summer since you got your degree and act like you know everything.”
When people started thinking Cardi was shading Megan, she responded, “Shady? What? It’s the truth. Albums aren’t performing as well in the summer as those dropping in other seasons. The music traffic is insane. There are thousands of songs releasing, and you can barely get placement for more than two weeks because of so many dropping at a time. It’s statistics. Unbend your risk and think with your brain. Not everything is messy and shady, weird ass.”
Then she added, “And since y’all want to de-ride him so much, maybe he’s right. I’ll release next summer then.”
So, what started all this drama between Cardi B and her fans was when she went live on Sunday and hinted that something big would happen on Monday. Fans thought she was going to announce her album or something exciting, but when nothing happened, they got upset. Cardi responded by saying, “Look, I never said I was releasing my album in the summer. Summer albums don’t even do well.”
Just to add, Megan Thee Stallion’s self-titled album “Megan” has sold about 68,000 units so far. She had the biggest first-week sales for any US female rap artist in 2024, so her album is doing pretty well.

I’m going to play Cardi’s live where she talked about what she was planning to announce on Monday, and then her Twitter Spaces session where she explained what she meant and responded to her fans. Take a listen.
That’s all I’ve got for you today. I’ll talk to you later. Tomorrow is a really important day. It’s going to make or break everything. You’ll see. And I hope you guys support… well, not my record, but RA 49’s record. It’s a fun one.
You know how it is, baby. Poor boy. Baby, I can do a no. There are more surprises coming because I’m on the clock right now. I can’t say much, but an album announcement is coming very soon. I know you hate hearing ‘soon’ from me, but for real, it’s happening soon. So chill. Make sure you support that RA 49 record coming out this week.
I’m tired. Anyway, my album announcement is coming soon. I wanted to do this live because I see you all complaining and looking for updates. When I’m quiet, it means I’m planning something big.
I wanted to clear up a few things. I’ve heard that some people are telling me to stop interacting with you all because they think it’s a waste of time. But I want to address you directly.
First off, I rewatched the live video and feel like I was pretty clear, but I’ll say it again: I’m not making any big announcements today. Today is a really important day because we’re finalizing a crucial part of the album. I’m very particular about my work, and if things don’t go as planned, I might delay the album. But if everything goes well, we’ll stay on schedule. Today is very significant to me and has been in the works for a long time. There are a lot of new elements and features coming with the album, so please be patient.
I also want to address some negativity. Some people have said that if I don’t release the album, they won’t support my other projects. My family and close ones never give me ultimatums, and neither should anyone else. If you don’t want to support my work, that’s your choice. I’m a grown woman, I handle my responsibilities, and no one can pressure me—not even my record label.

Also, not everything has to be mainstream pop. I’m a street rapper, and I make the music I want to make. Some of you need to understand that. I’ve had some songs in the works for months now, planned for the right timing. Just because some of you don’t like my choices doesn’t mean they’re not valid. A lot of you don’t go out or experience the club scene, so you might not get it. I make music for those settings too.
Living in a different community means I don’t always have access to the food I love, but I make do.
I’ve been losing track of days here in Paris, but thank you all for your patience. I’m working hard to get everything perfect. I’ll talk to you all later.
P.S., I’ve got some mixes to finalize and might share a sneak peek soon. Stay tuned!
Hey everyone, thanks for joining in. I wanted to jump on here because whenever I disappear for a couple of days, my fans start talking and wondering about new albums. I appreciate the support, but after that trip to Paris, I’ve been really exhausted. Like, seriously wiped out. Today, I even managed to miss a super important flight, which was a major disappointment for me. It wasn’t entirely my fault—left the studio late, dozed off in the car, and next thing I knew, I was at the airport without my passport. Total mess.
So now I’m stuck in New York feeling like a complete loser. But hey, I’m trying to make the best of it. If anyone’s around, swing by my place. We’ve got some mixing to do today, but I’m not heading into the city for it—you’ll have to come here.
EV, get over here ASAP. Seriously. And sorry for cutting out earlier.
