You probably recognize Krishan Rock from her on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Blueface. Their messy drama has been all over social media, and despite their breakups, they always seem to find their way back to each other. Recently, Krishan announced she’s expecting a baby with Blueface, saying, “I’m pregnant now. We’re all right. God bless, congratulations.”

What are we talking about right now?

While people find this train wreck entertaining, many of us are left wondering why either of them would choose to stay in such a toxic cycle of drama and abuse. Her dream is to be a “rattle diabetic.” Let her have that dream until she realizes her true worth. That’s why we decided to dig into Krishan’s background to understand her life before Blueface, as our past often shapes who we are today.

Krishan Malone was born on March 14, 2000, to Eugene and Charlotte Malone. She grew up in West Baltimore, moving from place to place with her 11 siblings as her parents struggled with substance abuse and legal issues. We found out that just three years before she was born, her parents were jailed for stealing their neighbor’s mail and trying to cash stolen checks. Her dad spent most of her childhood in prison, and she didn’t meet him until she was seven. Meanwhile, her mom fought to keep a roof over their heads. At one point, Krishan, her mom, and her 11 siblings were all crammed into a one-bedroom apartment in Baltimore, as she told The Shade Room.

In an interview with a Baltimore news station, Krishan revealed that she faced abuse as a child: “I went through abuse, so like either choked out or beat on.” She watched her dad repeatedly abuse her mom, leading her mom to suffer from anxiety and depression and eventually become dependent on antidepressants. Witnessing these incidents made Krishan push her father away and love her mother even more. The chaos at home made her look for any excuse to be away.

When Krishan was nine, her family became homeless. They were always told they’d get a new home, but it never happened. She and her siblings moved around, staying with different relatives and friends for a few days at a time before having to find somewhere else to sleep. Early on, Krishan realized that if she wanted a better life, she couldn’t depend on her parents; she had to create it for herself. She once told a Baltimore news outlet, “Since I didn’t have the childhood I should have, then I can have the future that I deserve.”

In seventh grade, Krishan found a love for track and field. She excelled in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the 400-meter relay. Running became her escape from the trauma and struggles of her life. But after training all day at school, she still had to face the harsh reality that she had no home to go back to. Thankfully, the support from her coaches, friends, and others at school kept her on the right path. She traveled with her track team and got to explore the U.S. after qualifying for the Junior Olympics. Eventually, she moved to California to pursue college athletics and became one of the top runners at Santa Monica College. She had the chance to advance to the next level in track and field or compete on a Fox reality show called Ultimate Tag. She chose the show, which aired in 2020, and won the $10,000 cash prize, with her family and then-boyfriend cheering her on from the crowd. Krishan decided to stay in California and brought her mom out there too.

Initially, her mom was sober, but she eventually became depressed from loneliness and relapsed into addiction. Krishan told The Shade Room that she flew her brother out to keep their mom company, but it didn’t help, and her mom slipped back into her old habits. When her mom returned to Baltimore, Krishan felt relieved, no longer burdened by the responsibility of being her mom’s caregiver and helping her fight her addiction.

In the summer of 2020, a video of Krishan and several other women sleeping in bunk beds at Blueface’s house went viral, sparking rumors about trafficking or Blueface’s polyamorous lifestyle, especially after he boasted about sleeping with 1,000 women in six months. Blueface later explained that the video was from a reality show he was filming for his OnlyFans account called “Blue Girls Club.” The show featured 16 women living in his house and competing against each other. He posted on Instagram that he wasn’t involved romantically with any of the women, insisting the show’s goal was to “develop these women by exercising their temper, attitude, patience, and composure.” He claimed he was giving these women a chance to pursue their dreams without compromising themselves, saying, “They all have a past. I just want to change their future.”

One of the women on the show said that Blueface initially wanted to empower them, but by the second season, he was more focused on being strong enough to break up their fights. Krishan’s involvement in the series marked the beginning of a rough period for her. She famously lost a front tooth during a fight with Blueface’s ex, Jaden Alexis, and later got a replacement tooth with Blueface’s image on it. In December 2020, Blueface signed her to his record label, and they started a chaotic relationship filled with drama, breakups, reconciliations, arrests, multiple pregnancy terminations, and physical altercations. Blueface eventually dropped her from his label, Krishan stole his G-Wagon, and their toxic relationship was showcased on a reality show called “Crazy in Love.” They frequently accused each other of cheating. In August 2022, Krishan was arrested after a fight in Scottsdale, Arizona. After her release, she told TMZ that she learned not to hit him in public, adding that the arrest had even improved their intimate moments.

In January 2023, Krishan announced she was pregnant. Blueface, who has two children with his ex Jaden, claimed that Krishan had been with ten different men in the past year and insisted on a paternity test to see if he was the father. Since then, Krishan has been involved in several physical fights, including one on the red carpet with a stylist. Blueface expressed his concern on Twitter, saying that seeing Krishan throw a punch was a major red flag and questioning her mental fitness to be a mother. Despite his agitation and attempts to distance himself from her, they always end up back together, leaving people wondering why they stay in such a toxic relationship.

Krishan’s troubled childhood might hold some answers. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, more than two-thirds of American children have experienced some form of trauma. When those we depend on, like our parents, hurt us or aren’t there, it can affect how we view relationships. These negative experiences make it hard to trust others and impact our communication. Psychcentral.com explains that this can lead to trauma reenactment, where adults repeat the unhealthy patterns they saw as children. This could explain why Krishan seems stuck in a cycle of drama with Blueface—she might be repeating a pattern she’s known all her life.

Thankfully, it is possible to heal from childhood trauma with the help of mental health professionals, self-care, and inner work.
