After nearly 17 years together, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have reportedly ended their marriage, according to TMZ. For many, this news came out of nowhere, but here at RRG, we’ve seen the signs brewing for a while. Let’s be honest—their relationship has been a rollercoaster from the start, complete with drama, rumors, and one seriously gross sneeze incident.
Wait—sneezing what into her where? Yeah, we’ll get to that. But first, a quick shoutout:
Now, back to the tea.
Jessica Alba’s story starts long before Hollywood fame. Back in 1992, growing up in California, she struggled with her strict Catholic upbringing and a lack of connection with her parents. Things got even tougher when she hit puberty at just 11 years old. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she opened up about how uncomfortable that time was for her:
“I freaked out. It makes you feel weird, you know, like your uncle is now hugging you a little bit longer than he used to. I think we all go through wanting to go back—you’re not sure you’re ready for that body.”
On top of that, Jessica faced unwanted attention from older men, which only made things worse. In an interview with The Daily Beast, she shared that her youth pastor even blamed her clothing for the attention, despite her efforts to dress modestly. To avoid the spotlight on her changing body, Jessica started restricting her diet:
“I made myself look more like a boy so I wouldn’t get as much attention.”
Desperate for freedom from her strict upbringing, Jessica turned to acting. At just 13, she landed a role in the 1994 movie Camp Nowhere. As her career took off, she tried to stay connected to her faith through the Catholic Church but eventually realized it wasn’t for her.
After appearing as a teenager with gonorrhea of the throat in a 1996 episode of Chicago Hope, her church community harshly judged her choice of role. Jessica also noticed the lack of strong female role models in the Bible, which led her to question the church’s teachings. Eventually, she decided to separate her personal beliefs from organized religion.
By 18, Jessica’s career was skyrocketing. She landed the lead role in Dark Angel and met co-star Michael Weatherly, who was 31 at the time. Jessica later described him as her first real relationship and the first man she was intimate with. The age gap didn’t go unnoticed, and while they eventually got engaged, the relationship ended in 2003.
“Actors are always being pulled in so many different directions. Unless you’re both completely in it, through thick and thin, and sure about each other, it’s just too hard. I’ve decided I’m never dating an actor again.”

She’s had her share of high-profile relationships, with names like Derek Jeter and Mark Wahlberg, and admitted to having a wild phase. She said:
“I just wanted to see what it was like to be with different people.”
Not shying away from casual hookups, Jessica described herself as the kind of woman who’d look over at a guy afterward and say:
“Do you really have to stay? I don’t need the cuddling or any of that because I know what it was, and I don’t try to make it into something more.”
A year after splitting from Michael, Jessica landed the role of Susan Storm in Fantastic Four. On set, she met Cash Warren, a production assistant. Raised by his Black father, actor Michael Warren, and white mother, Sue Narramore, Cash had attended Yale University, studying political science before choosing to follow his dad into the entertainment world.
Cash shared on the Works for Us podcast that he’d gone into Jessica’s trailer to take photos of her wearing colored contact lenses for the movie, admitting he was flirting and trying to get closer. The moment their eyes met, Jessica knew he was the one.
But there was one little issue: Cash had a girlfriend. Yet, he still went after Jessica. (Definitely a red flag, right?)
At the time, Jessica was also seeing someone, as her daughter spilled on Jessica’s YouTube channel:
“You had a girlfriend.” “I did.” “And you had, like, a 32-year-old boyfriend.” “No, no, no. We weren’t actually dating—we were just hanging out. You liked each other.”
It turns out, Michael wasn’t the only older man Jessica had been involved with before Cash came into the picture.
Not long after they met, Cash wrote Jessica a note saying:
“I really, really like you,”
…and signed it with a dollar sign. Jessica admitted she felt the same and was already in love with him.
Despite their strong feelings, they decided to break up. But during their time apart, Cash promised he’d figure out a healthier way to deal with his emotions if they ever decided to try again.
Their breakup didn’t last long. By December 2007, they were back together, and Jessica revealed she was pregnant. Well, that escalated quickly. Just weeks after the announcement, Cash proposed, and this time, she said yes.

But things weren’t all smooth sailing. While pregnant, Jessica told the Sydney Morning Herald, “I think I’ve already thrown Cash out of the house twice since I’ve been pregnant. He’s like, ‘Are you just pregnant? I hope you’re just pregnant and acting crazy.’ And I’m like, ‘It has nothing to do with that!’”
Can we talk about the red flags here?
Was it the pregnancy hormones, or was it something deeper? Hard to say. But on the morning of May 19, 2008, Jessica woke up, looked at Cash, and asked, “Do you have any meetings this morning?”
Cash responded, “I don’t think so.”
That’s when Jessica asked, “Should we get married?”
Cash said, “Okay.”
She later told Glamour UK she also made him promise to grab waffles and attend her prenatal appointment after they exchanged vows.
Years later, Cash described their wedding as “the dream wedding Jessica didn’t deserve.” So why didn’t you give her what she deserved? He admitted the ceremony was awkward: they stood under an arch of dusty plastic flowers in a courthouse chapel with no family or friends around.
We get it—maybe Jessica’s religious family didn’t show up for their pregnant, unmarried daughter’s wedding. But why weren’t her friends there? Did they think she was making a huge mistake? And Cash’s family? He says he’s close to them, so why weren’t they invited?
Forget all that—did she make him sign a prenup? Now that’s the question.
Their daughter, Honor, was born a month after the wedding, followed by Haven in 2011 and Hayes in 2017.
About a year after their wedding, US Weekly reported Cash partying with Lindsay Lohan at a Hollywood nightclub. An insider claimed they were “making out in the open,” and people were shocked to see a married man getting cozy with another woman. But Cash’s friends weren’t surprised.
One of his friends told US Weekly, “When he goes out with friends, he gets into trouble.” Lindsay called the rumors “absurd,” and Jessica told People the cheating reports were “absolutely ridiculous.”
Despite her busy schedule, Jessica made sure she and Cash had time together. She told Redbook that after work and putting the kids to bed, they’d have dinner and catch up. She added, “I need us time—all the time, all the time.”

Ever considered, I don’t know, getting a hobby, Jessica?
Cash was the jealous one early on, but over time, Jessica became the one with the green eyes. When asked about her role as “The Other Woman” in Little Fockers on Access Hollywood, she said, “So, I know that even if my husband isn’t doing anything with someone he works with, if they’re even remotely attractive or have a little bit of energy or share a cute word, I get really crazy.”
She also recalled the time Cash jammed his finger and had to get his wedding ring cut off. Cash tried to convince her it was fine for him to go without it for a while, but Jessica wasn’t having it. “Oh, hell no. You’re wearing the ring again. None of that foolishness.”
A ring doesn’t stop a man from cheating, Jessica. Maybe it’s time to rethink your priorities.
