Greetings, everyone, and welcome. Today, Tamar Braxton made an appearance on Wendy Williams’ show, where Wendy posed a question about Tamar’s potential return to “The Real”. For those unaware, Tamar was previously a co-host on “The Real” but was subsequently dismissed, sparking significant daytime TV drama. Many attributed her departure to conflicts with her co-hosts, fueled by Tamar’s cryptic remark about betrayal. However, the truth remained ambiguous, as Tamar refrained from clarifying the situation. Meanwhile, “The Real” has encountered its own challenges. Reflecting on her past, Tamar hinted at divine intervention in her departure, suggesting it was for her protection.

Was there any controversy leading up to this that made you suspect something was amiss, even for a moment? Absolutely not. There was no tension, no conflict. The girls and I got along—or so I thought. Did anyone provide you or Vince with a rationale for the termination? Honestly, I was blindsided in 2016 when I was let go from the show I helped create. I received no explanation whatsoever. Despite what seemed like a good relationship, are you still in touch with the ladies from “The Real”? It seemed like we had a rapport, so when that abruptly changed, it was deeply upsetting. Since Logan’s birthday party, I haven’t heard from them. No one reached out. Would you consider returning? Personally, I wouldn’t entertain the idea. I’m focused on moving forward, and exciting opportunities have arisen since leaving the show. I’m eager to pursue them. Do you maintain connections with any of the ladies? No, but I genuinely wish them all the best.

I lost my job. It happened suddenly, and there were rumors swirling about whether one of the women at the table had a hand in it. While speculation abounded, I can’t say for certain. Frankly, I’m not interested in embarking on a publicity tour like some others might. I’ve moved on from that phase of my life. My only wish is for everyone involved to thrive.

As Tamar has mentioned in various interviews, she never quite clarified what truly transpired. She also never explicitly defended my former co-host, allowing the gossip to persist. However, this summer, Tamar extended an apology to the ladies of “The Real,” sharing a heartfelt message on her Instagram:

“I’ve caused pain to those around me, including my sisters, the ‘The Real’ hosts, Iyanla, old and new friends, and anyone else I’ve wronged. I ask for forgiveness. I’ve struggled to express love, but now, with the help of my partner David, I understand how.”

In essence, Tamar expressed remorse for her past actions, including those involving her former colleagues. Recently, during an appearance on the Wendy Williams Show, Tamar was asked about “The Real,” to which she responded:

Would you ever consider returning to “The Real”? I always inquire about this. I used to find it quite enjoyable. What do you think they needed from you, especially considering the circumstances surrounding your departure? We’ve discussed this privately before. Could you elaborate on that? Well, the thing is, I don’t want to be drawn into anyone’s drama. Although, I wish everyone the best. Sometimes, it seems like God intervenes to remove us from toxic situations before they worsen. If I were still involved with the Braxtons, dealing with stress, and then faced with potential backstabbing on another show, what kind of position would I be in now, sitting here?

So, you’ve heard Tamar’s recent remarks once again. She hinted at mistreatment by someone on “The Real,” a narrative she’s consistently upheld. Reflecting on Tamar’s claims about backstage cattiness, it’s plausible that some of the ladies may have spoken ill of her behind her back. However, it’s crucial to note that they weren’t the ones responsible for her departure from “The Real.”

In response to Tamar’s comments on Wendy Williams’ show, the co-hosts of “The Real” did offer a response, although perhaps unnecessary given the circumstances. Nonetheless, I understand the allure of engaging in a high-profile story to boost ratings and protect one’s reputation. Here’s what the ladies of “The Real” had to say in reaction to Wendy and Tamar’s interview:
“Hello, Wendy. Firstly, thank you for acknowledging our show’s charm. We’re also honored to have received an Emmy. Regarding Tamar Braxton’s situation, I want to clarify. It’s been three years, and we’re unsure why this keeps resurfacing. This summer, Tamar extended an apology, which the ladies at our table accepted without issue. Regrettably, the apology was later removed. In an attempt to reconcile, I, in my capacity as a strong black woman, publicly invited her onto our show for the upcoming season. I also reached out privately via calls and texts, but received no response, hence the public ask. Our team will reach out again tomorrow. Our intent wasn’t to exploit you for publicity, but to mend fences, similar to Wendy’s recent gesture with Nene. You’re still welcome anytime. It’s about unity among black women, among women. No drama, just closure. You apologized, we extended the invitation, and it stands. We admire your strength, Tamar. My 20-year career isn’t marked by pettiness. Loni, I agree. It’s time to uplift, not tear down. We face enough challenges externally; let’s not add to it with false narratives. I’m tired of it. It’s unjust. Those close to me know my truth.”

What I find troubling is the prevalence of falsehoods and lies out there. It’s absolutely true. What many people fail to realize is that when we initially began “The Real,” each of us had our own separate careers. We were all pursuing our individual paths. Personally, I’ve been striving to make it in comedy for 15 years. Can you imagine that? 15 years of hard work. Finally, I land a show, only to be labeled as a bully, as someone who caused harm. I even saw another colleague, a senior, lose her job because of it. Imagine the pain after putting in so much effort for so long. Why would I do something like that?

Let me express something more general. I understand, Loni, that you weren’t involved in this, but here’s the reality of the situation. We were blindsided. Before we could even address anything, there was already a post circulating about us, painting us in a negative light. Unfortunately, those who assumed we had wronged them didn’t consider the repercussions it would have on us. Sadly, in today’s climate, any response, no matter how truthful, is perceived as defensive. We had no prior knowledge of what was happening, no malicious intent, no secret meetings. I can swear to that. So, if anyone has any doubts…
I find it quite startling to hear something like that. We’ve put in immense effort to reach where we are. If, hypothetically, I were in a traditional office job alongside my sister, who means the world to me, and she unfortunately lost her job, or if I faced the same fate, I’d reassure her that our hard work speaks for itself. I’d urge her to stay put, I’d guide her through the next steps, and I’d encourage her to keep moving forward. Adversities like contract disputes or financial setbacks shouldn’t derail us. Even if, by some twist of fate, the decision-makers decided my representation wasn’t suitable anymore, I wouldn’t point fingers or blame anyone. I firmly believe in pushing ahead, supporting each other, and recognizing that our collective impact extends beyond individual setbacks. This isn’t just about us—it’s about breaking barriers and paving the way for underrepresented voices, especially women of color, in the industry. That’s always been my stance.

So, you’ve heard the ladies of “The Real” discussing Tamar, and I’d like to chime in. The real story behind Tamar’s departure surfaced last year. Allegedly, it involved negotiation conflicts, catching Tamar off guard as neither the network nor her husband, Vince, disclosed the truth until the eleventh hour. Tamar has kept mum on the issue, likely to maintain her and her husband’s public image. Speculations suggest her management team played a role, although the specifics remain murky. Last year, during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Loni Love hinted at some revelations. Here’s my take: Tamar, post-“Dancing with the Stars” stint, mentioned wanting a new manager, specifically Steve Harvey’s former manager, Sean McDonald. In a conversation at her home, she brought up Vince’s involvement, implying he knew more than he let on. Tamar’s sister, Towanda, expressed sympathy for Loni, advising her to watch an episode of “Braxton Family Values” for clarity. It turned out, Vince was allegedly naming names in the show, prompting legal concerns from Loni. WeTV supposedly re-edited the episode after legal intervention, but an early cut leaked, implicating Loni. This saga underscores the complexities behind Tamar’s departure and the ripple effects it had on those involved.

Lonnie alleges that Vince held a grudge against her for recommending Tamar to another manager. Tamar had been actively seeking new management for a while. In the latest season of “Tamar and Vince,” it was evident that she was deeply unhappy with Vince’s management of her career. Dissatisfied with the direction Vince was taking her career, Tamar was eager to find new representation. Moreover, their marriage was already under significant strain, ultimately resulting in their divorce.

Tamar’s handling of the situation left much to be desired. Her initial statement was both vague and accusatory, putting the entire cast of “The Real” in a difficult position. She failed to clarify her remarks or defend her co-hosts on social media, leaving them vulnerable to criticism from her followers. While she eventually grasped the truth, her reluctance to publicly apologize likely stemmed from pride. However, her grievance wasn’t truly with her colleagues.

Despite any conflicts, I can’t help but miss Tamar’s dynamic presence on “The Real.” She brought a unique energy to the show with her humor, spontaneity, and edge. Unafraid to tackle tough topics, she added a refreshing candor to the discussions. Admittedly, her bold personality sometimes clashed with others at the table, but that’s part of what made the show engaging.

I extend my best wishes to both Tamar and the remaining hosts of “The Real.” While her absence is felt, I hope they all find success in their respective endeavors.
