It seems that Cat Williams isn’t too thrilled about Meagan Good’s relationship with Jonathan Majors, and he’s been quite open about it. Meagan and Jonathan have been facing a lot of public scrutiny and criticism, especially because of the timing and nature of how they got together. Cat hasn’t just voiced his disapproval; he’s also backed up some points made by Meagan’s ex, Devon Franklin, and hinted that Meagan might not be as innocent as she seems. So, what’s really going on between Jonathan and Devon, and why does Cat hate the relationship so much? Let’s dive in.
One thing about Cat Williams is that he speaks his mind and lets everyone else deal with the fallout. His interview on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay, caused quite a stir online because he had a lot to say on various topics, including Jonathan Majors and his new relationship with Meagan Good. During the interview, Cat talked about how the industry seemed to be positioning Jonathan as a symbol and even went as far as to call Jonathan unattractive. Just a few years ago, Jonathan was on fire with roles in “Creed” and Marvel movies. But, as Cat put it, “Anytime they elevate you to that level, you have to understand that they can bring you down whenever they want. It’s part of the deal of giving you the world.”
“First off, they spent two years traveling the world, telling any woman who would listen that this guy was attractive. Really? Since when did big noses, small heads, and big jaws become popular? When did that happen? He looks like my dad. When did you all start finding my dad attractive? Do you like Black people’s features that much? If this level of unattractiveness is considered good-looking, then everyone must be good-looking. Whenever you hear something unbelievable, just know it’s all a performance, and it doesn’t matter. You’ll see it’s all an act as soon as they get—”
Now, I don’t agree with him about Jonathan Majors being ugly because that’s just not true. But I think the reason Cat went so hard on Jonathan is because of the lawsuit Jonathan was facing at the time. He was accused of domestic violence when his girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, claimed he hit her during an argument. Jonathan’s lawyer quickly denied the allegations and released a statement saying he was innocent and that they had evidence to prove it. She said, “Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is likely the victim of an altercation with someone he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the district attorney, expecting that all charges will be dropped soon. This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where the incident happened, witness testimony from the driver and others who saw and heard what occurred, and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting her allegations.”

She continued, “All the evidence shows that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and did not harm her in any way. Unfortunately, this incident occurred because the woman involved was experiencing an emotional crisis and was taken to the hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in such situations, which is the only reason Mr. Majors was detained. We expect these charges to be dropped soon.”
Jonathan’s public image took a nosedive. He went from Hollywood’s sweetheart to being seen as a major villain who hurt women. He faced a lot of backlash, was dropped by his management team, and lost many roles, including his part as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This was a huge loss, as he was set to be the next big villain in the MCU, a role that would have made him a lot of money. Now, with his firing, there are rumors that the role has already been recast and will be revealed in the upcoming movie, Deadpool and Wolverine.
Back to Jonathan’s trial. It was very messy, with many details showing Jonathan in a bad light. For example, there was a text message hinting that Jonathan did put his hands on Grace. In the text, it said, “And you have—I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital. They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie and they suspect something.” Grace replied, “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head. If I go, I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and need stronger painkillers, that’s all. Why would I want to tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you? I feel like you want to be together, as in not to embarrass yourself for everything you said to your friends and family.” Jonathan responded, “Last night, I considered taking myself out versus coming home. You said you needed love last night, and I put my feelings aside and tried to give you that. I need love too, or maybe I’m such a monster and horrible man that I don’t deserve it and should just… This way of existence is miserable.”
He was found guilty, and the Manhattan District Attorney released a statement saying, “The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse and escalating patterns of coercion far too common across the many intimate partner cases we see each and every day. Today, a jury determined that pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors and his girlfriend. For the sake of transparency, Jonathan’s guilty verdict was not because he intentionally harmed Grace; they had an argument, and while he was trying to get away from her, she got injured by mistake, leading to his conviction.”
During the trial, Jonathan and Meagan publicly announced their relationship. Initially, many, including myself, thought it was a PR stunt. People accused Jonathan of trying to repair his reputation, damaged by a white woman, by dating a black woman. However, Jonathan and Meagan appeared together in court hand in hand, and several months later, they are still together, indicating their relationship is genuine.
Recently, Meagan was interviewed by Shannon Sharpe and addressed Cat Williams’ comments about Jonathan Majors: “He’s a sweetheart. I saw his interview, and he’s a sweetheart. I’ll leave it at that. Cancel, cancel, baby. What I will say is that my man is sexy to me, okay? He’s very sexy. Oh, I forgot. We just need to be clear on that. I—you know what? I forgot all about that.”
She also shared her thoughts on her divorce from Devon Franklin, revealing that he was the one who filed, leaving her hurt and angry for a long time. “I was like, ‘But Lord, you asked me to be celibate, and I was. You told me who to marry, and I married that person. I tried to do everything to the best of my ability. No, I didn’t do everything perfectly, but I don’t know what I could have done differently. So, why is this happening?’ My biggest fear was my husband leaving me after ten years, just like my parents’ separation, and that’s exactly what happened. I didn’t understand it.”
Now, fans are speculating that Meagan might not be as innocent as she seems. Remember the fight between Jonathan Majors and Grace Jabbari? Grace found out Jonathan was texting another woman, got jealous, and tried to grab his phone. Rumor has it that Meagan Good might have been the woman he was texting, suggesting they got together while he was still with Grace. Jonathan was arrested in March 2023 for allegedly assaulting Grace, which means they were still dating then. But in April, TMZ reported that Jonathan and Meagan had been seeing each other for a few weeks, saying, “Over the course of the last several weeks, Jonathan and Meagan have gotten close, and the relationship is fairly new.” Fans are now convinced that despite Meagan’s good girl image, she might have been involved with Jonathan, which led to his argument with Grace and the trial.
I’m not saying this is true because there’s no solid proof, but the timeline is interesting. It could explain why Meagan stood by Jonathan during the trial. Fans commented, “Jonathan Majors cheated on his girlfriend with Meagan Good. That’s why Grace got upset in the car. Remember, Meagan knowingly got involved with a man who was already in a relationship and then supported him in court after playing a role in the relationship’s breakdown. Meagan Good might never recover from this, which is unfortunate because she was having a career resurgence. This was the worst decision she could make. Jonathan might bounce back, but her fan base won’t forget this mess.”
