Hazel E, whose real name is Erica Adams, first made waves on “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood” back in 2014. Since then, she’s completely transformed her look. Over the years, she’s had a lot of cosmetic work done, from her nose to her body, trying to perfect her appearance. For a while, she seemed thrilled with the results, but eventually, all those procedures started to take their toll.

Hazel got a lot of hate after appearing on reality TV. People didn’t hold back, criticizing her attitude, her controversial comments, her wigs, and her looks. Some even started calling her Earnest, like the goofy character from those ’80s movies.

Hazel believed that all the negativity came from people who were just jealous. She acted like she was totally confident in her skin, but eventually, she started making changes. In 2015, she took her first big step by flying to Mexico for a breast augmentation. And that was just the beginning.
“You’re wearing a shirt without a bra. Mine look great without one. How much did you pay for those? $10,000?”

The following year, during a trip to Dubai with her then-boyfriend CAD Williams, Hazel had a bad ATV accident. She broke her nose and lost a tooth. To fix it, she got four veneers on her front teeth. CAD also paid for her nose reconstructive surgery. Some people accused her of using the accident as an excuse to get a nose job, mocking her for its size and shape.

“I crashed in Dubai, and then this rumor started that I faked the crash just to get a nose job. I almost died! Did I ever get an apology?”

Hazel made it clear her nose job wasn’t by choice. “I did break my nose in an accident, and yes, now I have a new nose. New nose, who this?” She also shared that she got skin-tightening laser treatments and cool sculpting to keep her body looking good. After she and CAD broke up, she surprised her fans in December 2016 by live-streaming a vaginal rejuvenation procedure. She said she did it because she was dating a much younger man, adding, “My new man is 10 years younger, so now my vagina is too.”
Hazel faced backlash and was let go from Love & Hip Hop in 2017 after making controversial comments about dark-skinned women and LGBTQ individuals. While there’s debate about whether she was fired before or after these remarks, her time on the show came to an end. Since then, she’s appeared on other reality TV shows and married Devon Waller in 2019. Their relationship has been tumultuous, as we’ve discussed in a previous video linked in our description.

In June 2020, Hazel and Devon welcomed their daughter, Ava. Wanting to regain her pre-baby body in early 2021, Hazel traveled to Turkey for what’s known as a mommy makeover in March of that year. This procedure typically includes several surgeries like tummy tucks, breast enhancements, and liposuction, all aimed at helping mothers rejuvenate their appearance. Despite its popularity, mommy makeovers carry risks and require a long, painful recovery. The tragic death of social media influencer Jackie O in May 2023 due to complications from a similar surgery highlighted these dangers, even as more women choose this route to reclaim their youthful figures after childbirth.
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to enhance your look if it makes you feel good. But doing too much all at once can be risky, as Hazel found out the hard way. She ended up having complications during her recent cosmetic procedures. In a tearful Instagram Live session with Hollywood Unlocked, she shared that she had to undergo emergency surgery because of issues with her liposuction, tummy tuck, and breast augmentation. Hazel had to get a blood transfusion and have her old breast implants removed. Reflecting on it all, she warned against getting surgeries done abroad, mentioning problems from a procedure she had back in 2015. Despite the scare, she’s thinking about redoing her breasts once she’s healed from her tummy tuck.

Some sympathized with Hazel, while others criticized her in the comments, attributing her current complications to karma for her perceived bad attitude. Critics urged her to embrace her natural body instead of pursuing potentially life-threatening aesthetics. Yet, for public figures, accepting oneself is far from simple. Constant scrutiny under the spotlight and relentless social media criticism amplify the pressure to maintain a flawless appearance. Moreover, plastic surgeons actively target influencers and reality TV stars with large followings, offering discounted or free procedures in exchange for promotion. This accessibility prompts celebrities to undergo frequent surgeries, increasing the risk of complications with each operation.

By mid-April, Hazel had returned to the US from Turkey and was recovering. Six weeks after her medical scare, she bravely shared a bikini photo on Instagram. In her caption, she spoke of learning to appreciate her smaller chest and the fuller cheeks pregnancy had given her. Unfortunately, the response was less than supportive, with comments urging her to step away from social media and focus on her daughter instead. The post has since been deleted.

Later, in an Instagram story, Hazel addressed speculation about her surgeries being driven by low self-esteem. She firmly asserted that her decisions were not rooted in self-doubt, stating, “I do love myself a lot. It’s just been tough adjusting to my post-baby body changes.” Hazel acknowledged the challenges of surgery but emphasized its importance when necessary. She also cautioned young women considering cosmetic procedures, reminding them that achieving desired figures requires hard work beyond just surgery. “Perfect curves and features come with effort and dedication,” she advised.
“Do you think it’s easy to just lie down on a table and let a doctor reshape your body? It’s not that simple.” Despite a medical emergency, Hazel showed no signs of softening her attitude, confirming in February 2022 that change wasn’t on her agenda.

“New body, same old me.”

Amid an online dispute, Hazel alleged similarities between City Girls’ 2018 hit “Act Up” and her 2017 track “Actin Up.” Yung Miami of City Girls swiftly dismissed her claims, quipping, “We’ve never heard a song from that woman. Those surgeries must have gone to her head.”

Rapper LightSkinKeisha unexpectedly entered the fray, urging Hazel to back off: “Stop bothering me. You don’t want this. I’m not afraid to fight in real life. Quit chasing clout; it won’t help your failing career.” Insults flew between Keisha and Hazel, with supermodel Winnie Harlow innocently caught in the middle. Hazel responded by mocking Winnie’s vitiligo as “101 Dalmatian and salt and pepper.” Later, on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast, Hazel refused to apologize to Winnie, admitting, “I went too far. If people can mock my appearance, then nothing’s off-limits.”

During the podcast, Hazel also discussed feeling pressure to bounce back postpartum, inspired by Teyana Taylor’s stunning post-baby physique.

“Teyana had an amazing body before pregnancy. That’s the difference. Some dreams aren’t meant for everyone.”

Hazel also opened up about feeling insecure about her husband’s reaction to her surgically enhanced body.
“Choose a partner who understands and cherishes a woman’s body after childbirth, embracing its natural changes like saggy skin and altered breasts that have nurtured life. I’m tired of men objectifying women, expecting them to conform to unrealistic standards like Barbie dolls. A real man respects and loves your body as it is, without judgment.

Recently, she admitted that her multiple surgeries had become excessive and vowed to quit cosmetic procedures for good, realizing the serious risks involved. ‘I won’t risk my life with another surgery,’ she emphasized.

In April 2022, Hazel was hospitalized due to an infection from a previous tummy tuck. In heartfelt posts, she shared the health challenges she faced from surgeries, warning others about the potential dangers. The following month, news broke of her pregnancy with her second child. During an emotional Instagram Live session, Hazel revealed her delayed announcement was due to health complications from an infection. Sadly, she experienced a miscarriage in November 2022. Later, she underwent surgery for fibroids and filed for divorce the following month.

Currently, Hazel’s noticeably altered appearance has sparked discussion. Thankfully, she has stayed true to her decision to avoid further surgeries. She’s now focused on her music career, raising her daughter, and serving as a role model for women. In interviews, she openly shares her journey with surgery to guide and inspire others. ‘I want to empower women to make informed decisions, especially my daughter,’ she said. ‘I hope they can learn from my experiences and strive for better.’
