Hey, everyone! Welcome! Let’s give a big shoutout to Liz Oh. Liz Oh has achieved a remarkable feat with her song “Truth Hurts,” making it the longest-running number-one song by a solo female rap artist. She’s even poised to surpass Iggy Azalea’s record with “Fancy.” Although “Fancy” featured Charli XCX, making it not solely a solo rap record, Liz Oh is on track to break that record. Liz Oh expressed her gratitude on social media, rallying her fans to keep “Truth Hurts” at the top spot. However, Iggy Azalea had some mixed feelings about Liz Oh’s acknowledgment of Charli XCX’s contribution. Iggy playfully remarked, “I could have sworn I was the one rapping on that song, but okay.” She then cheekily urged her fans to stream “Senorita” for radiant skin, as it currently holds the number two spot on the charts. Iggy even changed her Twitter icon to “Iggy Azalea: Stream Senorita” to support her cause. When someone suggested she was intimidated, Iggy responded confidently, “What exactly do I have to fear? I’m not featured on ‘Fancy’; that’s Charli’s territory.”

“She seems frightened.” Clearly, Iggy harbors some feelings about Liz’s lack of acknowledgment, likely fueled by jealousy over Liz potentially surpassing her record. Had Iggy pursued rap with this intensity, her career might have flourished more. There’s a puzzling aspect to the betrayal by women—I’m lost on that. Can someone explain it? Anyway, I don’t believe Liz was shading Iggy by not mentioning her. She was simply giving a shout-out to her friend Charli, who has an album out. Liz was just spreading love, but Iggy’s jealousy clouded her perception. Let’s be honest. Still, I hope Liz breaks that record. Now, onto another topic. Reality TV star Evelyn Lozada of Basketball Wives fame faces backlash for calling a castmate a gorilla. Evelyn’s been in feuds with various castmates for years, but her latest spat is with OG. Evelyn attempted to confront OG’s friend CC, but OG intervened. This led to a heated argument, with insults flying back and forth. Evelyn called OG ugly, and OG retaliated by mentioning Evelyn’s ex-husband, Chelsea Cole, expressing interest in her. The exchange escalated with references to “Ugly Oh Cho” being mentioned, adding fuel to the fire.

“Honey, your ex-husband tried to make a move on me. So for you to insult my looks, what does that say about you?” Evelyn yelled at me, her fists pounding the air in rage. It was a typical scene. I remained calm but assertive, not backing down. Mother’s Day couldn’t have felt more distant amidst this confrontation. That was just one snippet from the heated argument between Evelyn and OG. Evelyn even posted about it on her Instagram story, writing, “Nobody watches you harder than the people that can’t stand you,” accompanied by a gorilla emoji. This post drew heavy criticism from fans, with some calling for a boycott, accusing her of racist implications. OG didn’t hold back, accusing Evelyn of showing her true colors and labeling her a racist bigot. The tensions escalated further when Evelyn, facing backlash, claimed in an interview on E News’ “Just a Sip” that she identified as Afro-Latina to deflect accusations of racism and colorism. She spoke about tracing her roots and proudly claimed her mixed heritage. However, many saw this as a mere attempt to save face amidst the controversy, accusing her of conveniently embracing her Black heritage only when it suited her.

While I may not personally align with Evelyn, I feel compelled to offer a balanced perspective. In 2011, she did identify herself as Afro-Latina in a tweet, expressing gratitude to Latina Magazine and a personality from Latina MADtv. However, it’s crucial to recognize that self-identification doesn’t absolve someone from exhibiting anti-black behavior.

Evelyn’s past remarks, such as the one targeting someone’s skin tone with a colorist remark, and her comments directed at her ex-husband Chad Ochocinco, raise valid concerns. Her response to inquiries about her racial background, especially her figurative denial of having black ancestry, adds complexity to the discussion. It’s possible she acknowledges some black heritage but doesn’t identify as black.

In my view, Evelyn appears to embrace her black heritage selectively, particularly evident in her recent claims of being Afro-Latina following criticism over her remarks about OG. Her justification for discussing her ethnicity now, attributing it to external pressure, seems somewhat defensive. Regardless of her self-identification, her behavior on television leaves much to be desired, warranting criticism irrespective of her racial background.

Evelyn Lozada, a prominent figure from the reality show “Basketball Wives,” has faced significant criticism following her derogatory remarks towards a castmate, whom she referred to as a gorilla. While Evelyn has been engaged in conflicts with various women on the show over the years, her latest feud revolves around a confrontation with a castmate named OG. The altercation escalated when Evelyn attempted to confront OG’s friend, CC, leading to a heated exchange of insults between Evelyn and OG. In one instance, Evelyn insulted OG’s appearance, prompting OG to retaliate by revealing that Evelyn’s ex-husband had expressed interest in her.

This incident was shared by Evelyn on her Instagram story, accompanied by a controversial caption and a gorilla emoji, drawing widespread condemnation from fans of the show. Many criticized Evelyn’s actions as racially insensitive, with some calling for a boycott of her. OG responded by accusing Evelyn of racism and bigotry, citing previous instances where she allegedly made derogatory remarks towards other cast members.

In response to the backlash, Evelyn appeared on the E News show “Just a Sip” for a sit-down interview, where she claimed her identity as an Afro-Latina, seemingly in an attempt to deflect accusations of racism and colorism. She emphasized her pride in her Afro-Latina heritage and stated that she has embraced her roots.
You know, it’s kind of amusing, actually. During the season, someone asked me, ‘Should I thank you for being Black?’ I’d never been asked that before, and honestly, it offended me. I mean, I’m proud of my heritage. I grew up in New York, you know? I’ve even taken DNA tests just to explore my roots further. I identify as Puerto Rican, from New York, and Afro-Latina. But after I talked about this, some people criticized me, claiming I only embraced my Afro-Latina identity to deflect criticism from my past racist remarks. And sure, I’m not a fan of Evelyn, but in her defense, she did claim her Afro-Latina identity back in 2011. However, identifying as Afro-Latina doesn’t exempt someone from being anti-Black. Evelyn has made some questionable statements in the past, like referring to someone’s skin tone in a derogatory way. And even though she might acknowledge having Black ancestry, it seems she only brings it up when it’s convenient or when facing backlash. It’s evident she’s emphasizing her Black roots now due to criticism about her remarks towards OG. People are rightfully questioning why she’s suddenly highlighting her Afro-Latina identity. She responded, saying she never discussed her ethnicity before because she never felt the need to. But recent events compelled her to address it. So, it’s a bit murky. It feels like Evelyn is selectively embracing her Black heritage to suit the narrative, especially after facing scrutiny for her previous comments.

How many of us find ourselves constantly defending our ethnicity? I grew up in a wonderfully diverse neighborhood where discussions on race and ethnicity weren’t common. We connected based on vibe alone. However, in today’s climate, these discussions have become unavoidable. Personally, I’ve never shied away from them. Many of us take pride in who we are, just like Evelyn. But regardless of her identity, her behavior on TV is unacceptable. Now, shifting gears, the reality star Evelyn Lozada from “Basketball Wives” has faced significant backlash for derogatory comments towards a castmate. This feud, particularly with OG, escalated when Evelyn insulted her appearance. Both exchanged heated words, with Evelyn even resorting to racially charged language. This sparked outrage among viewers, with many condemning Evelyn’s actions. Some even called for a boycott of the show, highlighting the harmful implications of such language.

“Everyone, let’s boycott this appalling platform. Your behavior is utterly repulsive,” OG retaliated. “And there it is. Your true colors exposed—you’re a racist bigot. You’ve insulted Cece by calling her ‘Ling Ling’, Jackie as a ‘cockroach’, and now me as a ‘monkey’. May God deal with you,” OG continued. Evelyn Lozada and VH1, unacceptable. When Evelyn faced severe criticism, she addressed the issue in a sit-down interview on E News’ “Just a Sip”. Feeling the heat of accusations of racism and colorism, she claimed her Afro-Latina heritage. “I’m proud to be Afro-Latina because I’ve traced my roots and I know my origins. I have a mixed heritage, and I embrace it fully,” she stated. However, her attempt to deflect criticism backfired, with many accusing her of conveniently claiming Afro-Latina identity to mitigate backlash. Despite Evelyn’s past claims of being Afro-Latina in 2011, her actions and statements have drawn further scrutiny. While she acknowledges her mixed heritage, it doesn’t excuse her past remarks or behavior. For instance, her derogatory comments like, “What’s wrong with your blue-black behind? Pump your brakes before I go in,” and remarks about her ex-husband Chad Ochocinco only add fuel to the fire.

Take a seat and grab a Hill Harper book, why don’t you? That’s what she told me, “Are you sure you’re not part black, Evelyn?” and she replied, “Not literally, no.” Now, I’m not entirely sure what she meant by that, perhaps implying she might have some black ancestry but doesn’t identify as black. Maybe. But frankly, I see Evelyn as a mixed-race Latina who conveniently embraces her black heritage when it suits her. It’s evident she’s doing so now due to the backlash over her comments about OG. People called her out, questioning why she’s suddenly claiming Afro-Latina heritage. She responded, “I never talked about my ethnicity on TV because, honestly, I never felt the need to until recently. Until there were comments about me thinking I was black. How many of us constantly feel the need to justify our ethnicity? I grew up in a diverse neighborhood where race wasn’t a big deal; we connected based on vibes. But now that it’s become a topic, I’m not one to shy away. I’m sure many of us are proud of who we are.” So, those are Evelyn’s thoughts on that. Ultimately, her identity doesn’t matter; she just needs to stop the foolishness on TV because she’s constantly embarrassing herself, and it’s not a good look. Now, onto another topic. Evelyn Lozada from Basketball Wives has been facing backlash ever since she called one of her castmates a gorilla. She’s been feuding with various women on the show for years, but her latest spat is with OG. When Evelyn tried to confront OG’s friend CC, OG intervened, leading to a heated argument with insults flying both ways. Evelyn called OG ugly, and OG retaliated by mentioning Evelyn’s ex-husband wanting her. They exchanged barbs, with Evelyn even posting part of the argument on Instagram with a gorilla emoji and a caption implying OG’s obsession with her. Fans criticized Evelyn for the racial undertones of her post, calling for a boycott. OG responded to this, highlighting the issue at hand.

“Reveal your true character, you prejudiced individual. You’ve used derogatory terms like ‘Cece Ling Ling’ and ‘Jackie, a cockroach,’ and now you resort to calling me a monkey. May providence guide you.” It’s disheartening to witness Evelyn Lozada of VH1 under scrutiny for her unacceptable behavior. When confronted with criticism, she sought refuge in an interview on the E News program, “Just a Sip,” where she claimed Afro-Latina heritage amidst accusations of racism and colorism. “I take pride in my Afro-Latina roots, having traced my ancestry. Growing up in New York, my identity is a blend of various backgrounds,” she expressed. However, this proclamation didn’t quell the backlash; many perceived it as a strategic move to deflect criticism. Despite Evelyn’s past acknowledgment of her Afro-Latina heritage in 2011, her recent remarks and actions have raised doubts about her sincerity. Her history of colorist remarks and insensitivity toward her own racial identity undermine any claim to solidarity with the black community. While she may acknowledge her Afro-Latina background when convenient, her actions suggest a deeper issue. Evelyn’s recent altercation with OG, where racial slurs were exchanged, only adds fuel to the fire. Regardless of her self-identification, her behavior remains unacceptable. It’s imperative for her to reflect on her actions and strive for genuine growth. Now, shifting gears to another topic: the ongoing controversy surrounding reality star Evelyn Lozada of Basketball Wives. Her recent altercation with co-star OG, which included racially-charged insults, has sparked widespread condemnation. Despite her long-standing feuds within the show, this incident has drawn particular ire. Evelyn’s derogatory remarks and behavior underscore the need for accountability and reflection.
