The verdict has been rendered, finding Tory Lanez guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He faced three charges: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, illegal possession of the gun, and negligent discharge of a firearm. Now, Tory could potentially serve up to around 20 years in prison and could also face deportation.

This verdict marks a significant victory for Megan Thee Stallion and the prosecution team. Personally, I was somewhat surprised by the guilty verdict on all three counts. While I anticipated guilt on one or two charges, the verdict on all three is quite intriguing.

There were substantial doubts throughout the trial, particularly regarding the reliability of the prosecution’s key witnesses, notably Kelsey Nicole Harris. Kelsey, present during the shooting, provided one account to prosecutors in exchange for immunity. However, when she took the stand, she invoked the Fifth Amendment and withdrew many statements implicating Tory. This inconsistency cast doubt on her credibility. Furthermore, Justin, Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard, failed to appear in court. His absence raised suspicions, as he was expected to confirm Tory’s alleged apology for shooting Megan.
Another suspicious aspect was the discrepancies in the various accounts of the incident. According to the prosecutors’ version, Megan and Tory were arguing over their music careers, leading to Megan exiting the car and Tory immediately firing five shots at her. Strangely, there was no mention of any prior altercation. However, it later came to light that the argument escalated dramatically when Tory confessed to sleeping with Megan behind Kelsey’s back. An independent witness, Sean Kelly, contradicted the prosecution’s narrative, stating that he witnessed Kelsey and Megan engaged in a heated argument, followed by a physical fight during which Kelsey began shooting. Kelly further claimed that Tory then seized the gun from Kelsey and fired shots into the air. This alternative version provided by Kelly starkly contrasts with the story presented by the prosecution.

Tory’s DNA wasn’t discovered on the magazine of the gun, and his DNA results on the gun itself were inconclusive due to multiple people handling it. While a female’s DNA was found on the gun, Kelsey and Megan’s fingerprints were not taken by the police that night. These factors raise doubts about who truly shot Megan. However, it’s undeniable that Megan sustained injuries from gunfire, as evidenced by the four bullet fragments in her feet revealed by X-rays. The question remains: was it Kelsey or Tory responsible for her injuries?

Despite claims implicating Tory, a closer examination of the case details prompts skepticism. The lack of clear evidence leaves much uncertainty about what transpired that night. Although technically not her trial, the outcome still represents a significant victory for Megan.

Turning to Tory Lanez’s father’s reaction, he expressed deep dissatisfaction with the verdict, criticizing the system, prosecutors, LAPD, and even Roc Nation. It’s a contentious issue worth delving into.

I stood here in Los Angeles County, witnessing what I consider the most egregious miscarriage of justice this world has ever seen. If you want to know how I feel, I’ll tell you straight. There are names I need to mention: Alex Sparrow, Desiree Perez, and the entire corrupt apparatus of Roc Nation, including you, Jay-Z. Yes, you, who claim to have risen from poverty but have profited from the suffering of young men, and continue to do so. The sole impartial witness in this courtroom is Sean Kelly. He refused even to shake hands with our attorneys after cozying up with Capital and Alex Butch. They met on Saturday before he testified, and then he returned, seated with Jody Little, the prosecutor’s investigator, who feigned ignorance. I’ve seen damning evidence buried here, and I know what the public will say: silence. But I speak out not out of idle chatter but as a father, not just to my own children but to many spiritually. I don’t make baseless accusations. You’ve exploited and traded the futures of young Black and Brown men, and I call upon everyone to stand up because your sins won’t remain hidden. God doesn’t overlook injustice, and though we may be at a crossroads, rest assured, divine justice will prevail.

This situation reeks of injustice. District Attorney Kathy Tobs, who presides over this case, is the very same individual aware of or witness to the brutality inflicted by five Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies on a man named Carrillo, a Spanish man, until he was beaten unconscious. In an interview with ABC News, Carrillo expressed his despair, fearing he wouldn’t witness his child’s birth or see his other child grow up. But let me tell you, this judicial system isn’t about justice; it’s about securing wins and avoiding losses, even if it means resorting to underhanded tactics.

Jay-Z, I implore you to listen. Because my son refused to sign a Roc Nation deal with you, and Desiree Perez, you treacherous individual, turned informant, betraying your cohorts in the underworld. You collaborated with the feds, revealing the activities of the drug peddlers. But mark my words, there are countless prayer warriors across the globe tirelessly working until justice prevails and you face consequences. We don’t wield guns, but we possess the power to bring you down spiritually.

Now, shifting gears to a crucial message: it’s paramount to be discerning about the company we keep. We must choose our friends wisely and exercise caution in our intimate relationships. Perhaps if Megan and Tory hadn’t entangled themselves romantically, this tragic incident might never have occurred. Tory’s lack of restraint led him into this dire situation, a stark reminder of the consequences of recklessness fueled by alcohol and poor judgment.

The case of Shankula Robinson serves as another cautionary tale. We must select our companions with care, safeguarding our energy and not granting everyone access to our lives. If someone raises red flags, heed them; they’re warnings for a reason. Surround yourself with trustworthy individuals. Your circle should comprise those who genuinely care for your well-being.
