You might have heard the rumors about a tape supposedly showing Pimp C and Beyoncé in a compromising situation. Some people think this tape might have something to do with Pimp C’s death, with whispers that Jay-Z might be involved. Apparently, there is a tape, and if you read the comments online, many people seem convinced it exists. Those who were in Houston at the time claim to know the real story, suggesting Beyoncé might have had a bit of a wild side back in the day.

Dr. Terryin Carrington, who put together Beyoncé’s all-female band (an idea credited to her father, Mathew Knowles), has been mentioned in these stories. It’s alleged that Beyoncé had a fling with Pimp C, and there’s even talk of a tape. Some speculate that Pimp C might have threatened to leak it, and that this could be why he was killed, supposedly by Jay-Z. The drama in Hollywood can be insane.

For some background, Pimp C signed with Jive Records in 1992 as part of UGK with Bun B. They released their debut album “Too Hard to Swallow” and followed up with “Super Tight” in 1994 and “Ridin’ Dirty” in 1996, both making it onto the Billboard 200. UGK got national attention in 2000 after featuring on Jay-Z’s hit single “Big Pimpin’,” which reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Rhythmic Top 40. The group took a break in the early 2000s, with both members working on solo projects.
In December 2007, on Jay-Z’s birthday, Pimp C was found dead in his hotel room. The coroner’s report said his death was due to complications from heavy lean consumption and sleep apnea. Pimp C had been staying at the Mandarin Hotel in West Hollywood, California, working on new music and performing with Too $hort. On the morning of December 4th, 2007, he was supposed to fly home, where his wife Chinara and his cousin Ed were waiting to pick him up at the airport. When they didn’t hear from him, Chinara called the hotel and asked them to check on him. Hotel staff found him unresponsive, and paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after.

DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia later shared that Pimp’s manager, Rick Martin, saw Pimp’s body in a praying position with blood around, making them initially think he might have been shot. It was unclear what had happened, but DJ Paul noted that Pimp was kneeling with burned-down candles, indicating he had probably been dead for a day or so, as he always lit candles to sleep. This fueled suspicions about his death, especially with rumors of an affair between Pimp C and Beyoncé that allegedly upset Jay-Z.

Bun B also shared a story about being in the studio with Beyoncé and Pimp C. Jay-Z called to check who was there and, upon learning that Beyoncé was dressed provocatively, insisted that all the men leave the room. Bun B recalled Jay-Z saying, “I’m not going to have y’all looking at my girl like that.” Jay-Z wanted to know who was there and what Beyoncé was wearing, and when he found out, he made everyone leave.

Honey, if I remember right, something similar happened with Sean Paul when he was working on “Baby Boy” with Beyoncé. Sean Paul once shared, “Uh, when I got there the night before the video shoot, I was told I’m not in any scene with her. To me, at the time, the way I was thinking about the video was totally different. I thought we were going to act something out together.” Even though the song was a huge hit, he only got to perform it live with Beyoncé three times. He mentioned that during their second scheduled performance, things felt weird and like there was sabotage. The third time was odd, too. Sean Paul also said they were supposed to perform at the VMAs, and Beyoncé had mentioned rehearsals. But the day before the VMAs, during a press day, Sean heard someone else rehearsing “Baby Boy.” When he asked the label, they told him, “Yo, they’re not going to do the song with you.”

People say all this sabotage happened because Jay-Z wasn’t happy about rumors that Beyoncé and Sean Paul had a thing. Now, imagine how much worse it could get for someone who allegedly had an x-rated tape with Beyoncé. And get this, Bun B once talked about a time when Beyoncé’s dad told Pimp C not to hook up with her. He said, “Mathew Knowles comes in and asks Pimp, ‘Can I talk to you for a minute?’ They leave for a bit, and when Pimp comes back, he’s laughing. We’re like, ‘What’s up?’ And he’s like, ‘Yo, Mathew just told me not to hook up with his daughter, man.'”

Some folks have suspected foul play in Pimp C’s death. In 2017, Too $hort said he found the circumstances suspicious. He told HipHopDX, “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years and I still can’t accept the circumstances. There are so many weird situations with celebrities found in hotel rooms alone in strange cities. I’m like, ‘What’s going on with celebrities and hotel rooms? Check out the 27 Club, you know what that is.'” In an interview with VladTV, Too $hort said Pimp C’s death never added up for him. “I never heard anything that gave me closure. I never heard anything tangible or true about what happened to my guy.”

Here’s something interesting: Pimp C really didn’t like Jay-Z. This came out in an episode of The Art of Dialogue, where record executive Greg Taylor shared a story about a tense phone call between Jay-Z and Pimp C. Right after the deal for Jay-Z and UGK to collaborate on “Big Pimpin'” was made, Taylor called Pimp C to give him the news. Unfortunately, the call was on speakerphone, and Pimp C didn’t hold back his feelings. Taylor said, “I got a million-dollar check for you.” Pimp C shot back with, “All we wanted was $100,000.” When Taylor explained the check was from Roc-A-Fella, Pimp C replied, “Man, tell him to take that check and go give it to Tupac’s mama, man. He gonna be stealing all my sh*t.”

There were also rumors floating around about a tape involving Pimp C and Beyoncé. People speculated that if such a tape existed, it could “break the internet.” According to these rumors, the tape featured a famous R&B singer and a wealthy man. Pimp C was known to bring a camcorder into the studio and record footage. Supposedly, he had plans for this footage, but nothing ever came of it. If that tape existed and fell into the right hands, it could be incredibly valuable.

Given all this, don’t you find Pimp C’s situation a bit suspicious? Considering what we know about Jay-Z, if such a tape existed, don’t you think he would do everything possible to ensure it never leaked? Share your thoughts on how you think Jay-Z might have reacted to the alleged tape in the comments below.
