Hello, everyone! Exciting news for Normani and football star DK Metcalf—they’ve just announced their engagement! This comes shortly after DK signed a lucrative $150 million contract with the Steelers.
What’s heartwarming is that Normani didn’t need to share the news herself—her fiancé proudly made the announcement first!
“Shout out to my beautiful fiancée for being by my side. Can’t wait to hit the field with the black and gold nation. Proposed yesterday. Yes, sir! There she is—show off that ring, baby!”
Interviewer: “How long had you been planning this? Was it before the trade request and everything?”
DK Metcalf: “I actually tried last year, but with her busy schedule as a singer, it was tough to coordinate. So, I took a creative approach, sending her flowers with a story, and the final letter spelled out ‘Will you marry me?’ She said yes.”
I couldn’t help but smile watching this—it’s truly adorable! I’m thrilled for both of them.
Fun fact: Ciara and Russell Wilson actually played matchmaker! DK and Russell were teammates on the Seahawks and are close friends. Ciara, being friends with Normani, encouraged the connection because DK had his eye on her for a while.
Interviewer: “How did you two meet?”
Normani: “Through Ciara and Russ.”
Interviewer: “Oh, that’s sweet! If CeCe recommends someone, you’ve got to pay attention!”
Normani Spills on How Ciara and Russell Played Matchmaker!
Normani: “Yeah, she was serious—on multiple occasions. She kept saying, ‘Hey, but this guy though…’”
Interviewer: “So, was he showing interest?”
Normani: *“Oh yeah, for a while actually. But at the time, I was in a completely different situation. When the opportunity finally presented itself, I was open to meeting him.
I went to a friend’s release party, and Ciara kept blowing up my phone. She was launching her alcohol brand, but she was unusually adamant about me coming. Very adamant! I was like, ‘Okay, okay, I’ll stop by!’ But I could just tell something was up—she was way too persistent.
And then, on my way there, she hit me with, ‘Oh yeah, your boy’s gonna be there.’ That’s when I knew exactly what she was up to!
Turns out, they pulled the same move on him once he was already there—they were playing Cupid!”*
Shoutout to Russell and Ciara for their matchmaking skills! I love how Ciara is always looking out for her girls—she’s a true girls’ girl. People always talk about how she prayed for Russell, but what they don’t realize is that she also wants her friends to experience that same kind of love. And I’m so glad Normani was open to it!
Ciara and Russell were absolutely thrilled about the engagement news. Ciara took to social media, writing:
“Russell and I knew when we introduced y’all three years ago, love was truly in the air! Now y’all are going to be boo’d up forever! This was the best news! DK Metcalf, Normani—we love y’all so much!”
So cute! I love it! I love it! I love it!
And let’s be real—after this, women everywhere are going to start asking Ciara to set them up. I can already see it happening!

Honestly, I would LOVE for her to help Halle Bailey next. Halle and Ciara have such similar stories—both had a child with a man who didn’t treat them right, but Ciara was able to move on and find a man who truly values her. I’m really hoping the same happens for Halle.
Ciara, please work your magic! We can’t have our Little Mermaid out here getting embarrassed by DDG. It ain’t right—it just ain’t right!
But back to Normani—congrats to her and DK once again! She’s about to be a whole wife, living that WAG life! And I do wonder if this means she might step away from music.
It would be a shame because Normani is incredibly talented—she has everything it takes to be a massive star! But let’s be honest, she’s faced so much sabotage and so many setbacks in the industry that it barely seems worth it. If she does continue, I hope she goes independent like Ciara because, at this point, being signed to a label isn’t doing anything for her.
RCA has done absolutely NOTHING for her career! Like seriously… where’s the money? Where’s the money? Where’s the money?
AA Walls Exposes the Dark Side of the Gospel Industry: “We Were Used and Never Paid”
AA Walls recently opened up about her departure from the gospel industry, revealing the harsh realities behind the scenes. According to her, unethical practices were rampant, and her group, The Walls Group, often went unpaid despite their hard work.
“The amount of work people demand from you—just to steal from you, just to use you for their own gain—is exhausting,” she shared. “And when they can’t use you anymore, they just toss you aside. You’re left picking up the pieces of your life. It’s just not worth it.”
Walls disclosed that during most of her tours, she and her group never received payment. “We were told, ‘Oh, nobody’s getting paid,’ but later found out that everyone else was—except us.”
She described how young artists like The Walls Group were easy targets due to their lack of business experience. “People saw our talent and took advantage of it. They used us to write, to sing, to perform—without paying us a dime. You wake up one day and realize you’ve been completely exploited, with nothing to show for your gifts and talents.”
But financial exploitation wasn’t the only issue. Walls also spoke about the jealousy and sabotage they faced from established gospel artists. “For a lot of people, gospel music is a business. If a new group comes in and dominates sales and streams, some artists see them as a threat. Suddenly, you have grown adults mad at you because you’re successful. And I’m thinking, ‘I’m just a kid—why are you hating on me?’”
She revealed that the industry could be incredibly cutthroat. “Some people just won’t let it go. They’ll hate you, blackball you, try to keep you out of award shows, and even work to snub you for awards. The competition is wild. Gospel artists become celebrities in that space, and some of them are just mean. Like, how are you a diva in an industry that’s supposed to be about faith?”
Walls even suggested that some gospel artists have compromised their morals to gain fame and fortune. “Selling your soul isn’t always about something extreme—it can be as simple as compromising your values to get ahead. Some people do shady things to secure awards, radio play, or industry favors. It definitely happens.”
Her revelations shed light on a side of the gospel industry that many fans never see—one where faith and business collide in ways that aren’t always ethical.
I remember this guy who wanted to work with me. At first, I thought it was a great opportunity—he came from a major label, so I figured it had to be lucrative. But then he started talking about changing my image.
He was like, “We need to tweak your look a little… make you more sultry. Sexy gospel.”
And I was like, “Oh no, you lost me! Nope, you lost me there. You lost me there. You lost me there.”
Look, I believe God gives us different tools to bring people in, but trying to seduce folks to Christ? That doesn’t even make sense! That’s just crazy to me.
People always want a piece of you—whether it’s financially, or even sexually. And the worst part? They didn’t care that we were just kids.
Oh my gosh, they did not care that we were kids.
So many people tried to take advantage of us because they saw we were out there, exposed, with no real protection. Everybody just wanted to see what they could get from us. And honestly? I’m tired of it.
It’s already bad enough in the secular industry, but for this to be happening in gospel music too? That’s just beyond sad.

But AA put it best—the gospel industry isn’t really Christian. It’s a business. Most of these people are just here to make money, plain and simple.
At the end of the day, it’s up to the artists to live right and truly prioritize God. But let’s be real—some of them don’t. And that’s exactly why there’s so much mess happening behind the scenes.
Hearing about kids being preyed upon like that? It’s beyond disturbing. It’s heartbreaking.
But anyway, let me know what y’all think about this down in the comments!
