Just when it seemed Porsha couldn’t catch a break, she faced a brutal backlash from Nene Leakes. Nene went off on her for allegedly scheming to have her fired from a TV show they were both slated to guest on. Porsha supposedly badmouthed Nene to the producers behind her back, hoping to secure her removal and replace her with someone else. This revelation shocked many, given the longtime friendship between Nene and Porsha. Not only did Nene call out Porsha for trying to jeopardize her opportunities, but she also aligned herself with Simon and his new girlfriend, Jay. Nene has a knack for joining forces with adversaries when wronged, and she’s unapologetic about it. Adding insult to injury, despite Porsha’s maneuvers, she ended up being replaced herself, while Nene retained her position on the show. Porsha’s streak of misfortune continues, and it’s becoming quite embarrassing.

This whole saga kicked off a few days back when Nene took to Instagram to spill the beans about how Porsha allegedly attempted to have her axed from the Netflix comedy series, “The Upshots.” According to Nene, her management team informed her recently that the show’s producers wanted her to make a guest appearance alongside Porsha in one of the episodes. Naturally, Nene was thrilled, given her close relationship with Porsha at the time, and she anticipated a great time on set. However, things took a sour turn upon her arrival, as Porsha was conspicuously absent – not showing up for filming on the first day at all. It emerged that while Nene was eagerly anticipating meeting Porsha and enjoying some camaraderie, Porsha was reportedly lobbying the producers behind the scenes, insisting she’d only participate if Nene was ousted due to their strained relationship. It’s the stuff of reality TV lore, folks. In a candid video, Nene recounted the sequence of events: “Earlier this week, my management company informed me about a potential role in the Netflix series ‘The Upshots.’ Negotiations progressed, agreements were reached, and I was scheduled to fly out to LA on Tuesday. I was informed that Porsha Williams would also feature in the series alongside me. Excited for the opportunity, I hadn’t crossed paths with Porsha…”

Every time we meet, there’s laughter in the air, so I was confident when Porsha and I were paired up for this project. We were informed about a rehearsal session. But during rehearsal, Porsha was absent, substituted by someone else. Lunch break passed, still no Porsha. I eagerly anticipated her arrival, eager to collaborate and discuss our parts. However, the day concluded without her presence. Back at my hotel, I received a call from production inquiring about any conflicts with fellow Housewives, hinting at recasting. Shocked, I denied any issues, puzzled by the sudden turn of events. Apparently, Porsha declined to work with me, citing past grievances. This blindsided me as we had no recent conflicts; we’ve even shared positive interactions post my departure from Real Housewives. Confused, I reached out to Porsha, discovering she felt neglected since my lack of communication post her divorce news. We’ve spent weekends together, celebrated birthdays, even traveled as couples. It’s baffling why she’d undermine our relationship and professional collaboration.

I’ve encountered Porsha in Atlanta, we’ve shared laughs and conversations. It’s surprising to hear that Porsha would approach a production company expressing unwillingness to collaborate with me, especially considering our past interactions. Let me clarify, it’s been over four and a half years since I’ve been a housewife. As black women, being labeled as angry or difficult presents significant challenges in our industry. Such perceptions can be detrimental to our careers. Contrary to any insinuations, I believe we’re capable professionals who can resolve any differences and work together effectively.

If there were any issues in the past, they were minor compared to the conflicts with Kenya or Candy. Petty disagreements are inevitable on a reality show, but they’ve never hindered our ability to cooperate. I’m saddened and disheartened by any suggestion that we’re incompatible professionally. I reached out to Porsha via text to address this, and she mentioned her divorce as a reason for not responding promptly. However, it’s perplexing considering I saw her seemingly content with her husband in Dubai. Regardless, I respect her privacy and didn’t intend to intrude.

While it’s true that Yanni and Simon are spending time together, it doesn’t impact my relationship with Porsha. I have no involvement with Simon beyond that. My connection with Porsha remains unaffected by external factors, and I’m committed to preserving it.
I understand why Porsha might feel some resentment, especially considering Nene is meant to be her closest friend. But instead of attempting to get Nene fired, Porsha could have handled it maturely by addressing her feelings directly with Nene. It seems immature to resort to such extreme measures. Nene even mentioned that the producers of Real Housewives of Atlanta once considered firing Porsha, but she intervened on Porsha’s behalf, pleading for her to stay. So, Porsha’s actions feel like a betrayal. When Porsha and I were both on the show, she was going through a divorce, and I advocated for her to remain. I spoke to the production team and anyone at Bravo who needed convincing, expressing my belief that she should stay. Even when Porsha got physical with Kenya, I intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further. Ultimately, it seems Porsha’s issue is with sharing the spotlight, which is disappointing because professionals should be able to do so. Porsha is not a star; she’s a Bravo personality. Many were appalled by her behavior and didn’t hesitate to criticize her for it. Some remarked that Nene has always supported Porsha, even when she’s wrong, so this betrayal is particularly hurtful. It’s a sad example of thinking you’re close with someone only to discover they’re not truly supportive. Others commented that Porsha needs to mature and stop sabotaging her opportunities for work and income over personal grievances.

It’s absurd. Nini and Kenya joined the fray in the Shade Room comments after they posted about it, taking shots at Porsche. There’s already bad blood between Kenya and Porsche from their ongoing feud and past altercations, so it’s no surprise Kenya seized the opportunity. She claimed, “They offered me the same role knowing my history with Kim. Yet, being a professional, I was still considered. What’s meant for you, no man or housewife can take away.” Nini chimed in, baffled by Porsche’s actions, saying, “We had no issues. I don’t know why she did that; we were cool.” Then, Nini escalated things by posting photos of her and her boyfriend on a double date with Simon and his new girlfriend, Jay, captioning it, “Happy Sunday, child.” It was a messy situation, but it’s Nene Leaks we’re talking about; drama shouldn’t be unexpected. While some enjoyed the shade, others accused Nene of disloyalty to Porsche. One defender argued, “Porsha tried to stop Nene’s bag. Nene owes Porsha nothing but an ass whooping.” Nene responded with, “Say it louder for the people in the back.” Though Nene’s behavior seems overly petty, I can see where she’s coming from. It’s one thing to have personal issues, but trying to sabotage someone’s job is unacceptable. It’s someone’s livelihood at stake. Nene should probably move on, but I understand why she’s not inclined to. She doesn’t owe Porsche any loyalty, especially after Porsche’s actions. As for Porsche, she hasn’t responded yet; she’s dealing with a messy divorce.

It won’t be long before she speaks up. As always, opinions are varied, like one individual who remarked, “Nah, Nene is genuinely hurt and surprised. On one hand, she should have had a direct conversation with her beforehand. It’s unfair and wrong to address the issue behind her back, especially considering their history. On the other hand, it’s acceptable to enjoy someone’s company but not wish to collaborate professionally. She’s dealing with personal matters, though her approach was flawed.” Another commenter added, “We’re aware that Porsche can be quite immature at times. She struggles to manage her emotions when things don’t go her way. She should take time to reflect and apologize for her actions.” Now, I’m interested in your perspective. How do you feel about NeNe confronting Porsche about her deceitful actions? Do you believe Porsche will address this and clarify her motivations?
