It looks like the feud between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj is still going strong. Megan took a major shot at Nicki in her new album, and rumor has it that Nicki isn’t going to let the disrespect slide. Initially, people were on Megan’s side because they thought Nicki needed to be humbled since she started coming at Megan first. However, now a lot of people are beginning to think Megan is dragging this out and still taking shots at Nicki because she saw how well things went for her when she released “His.” They believe she’s trying to bait Nicki into another explosive feud to recreate that moment for her new album.
Earlier this year, Megan caused quite a stir by making Nicki Minaj a global laughingstock with her platinum-certified diss track, “His.” In the song, Megan takes direct shots at Nicki, criticizing her husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, both of whom have been convicted of sexual assault. She rapped, “These girls don’t be mad at Megan, these girls mad at Megan’s Law,” cleverly referencing the law about sex offender registration. Megan also poked fun at Nicki for allegedly photoshopping her pictures to look thinner in an attempt to compete with younger women, rapping, “Don’t you ever grab a mic and think that me and you competing, bad B in the walls ain’t bending, post photos name star trending.”
And I kid you not, the song triggered Nicki like never before. She went on a week-long rant, liking posts about Megan’s foot and accusing her of lying about Tory. She posted, “Y’all want to bring up family members and lying on your dead mother, lied to Gail, lied on, and F your best friend’s man, told me to drink and go to the clinic if I was pregnant, all because I wouldn’t let your funky self pour liquor down my throat.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, she made things worse by releasing a diss track called “Bigfoot.” The song was basically a repeat of everything she had said in her tweets and IG lives but set to a beat. She rapped, “This little begging or talking about Megan’s Law for a free beat, you could hit Megan raw if you a ghostwriter party in Megan’s jaw. Um, why did you lie about your lipo, ing your best friend’s man is crazy, you the type though, she was partying with the baby while rubbing on Tory’s tube. I guess she needed money bags for them Trey songs.”
Nicki crossed a line when she mentioned Megan’s late mother. She accused Megan of lying about her mom and even claimed that Megan slept with her stepfather just days after her mother passed away. In her rap, Nicki said, “How you f your mother man when she die, child bye, swearing on your dead mother when you lie.” It was clear Nicki was throwing out wild accusations to win the feud, but no one was buying it, and it only made her seem more unhinged.
Megan, on the other hand, didn’t tweet a response and let Nicki have her moment. But things got even more interesting because Megan was quiet for a reason—she was busy in the studio, ready to clap back at Nicki. The next song she released after “His” was “Boa,” where she threw more shade at Nicki and even seemed to accuse her of being an addict. Megan made it clear she was talking about Nicki by referencing her last name, Petty, in the lyrics: “I took off on bead and left them behind, how you hate me if I’m on your mind, sending me messages ain’t Valentine, bees is messy but I’m petty.”
Megan didn’t stop there; she also trolled Nicki for editing her Instagram photos and claimed Nicki was obsessed with her. She rapped, “Don’t got to edit, check the Getty, I keep it real, I keep it sexy, calling for backup before they address me, do all that typing but never once did I get pressed, it’s obvious bees obsessed, just crossing another op off the checklist, spanking these rap bead, yeah that’s my fetish, all that effing talking but let’s see who really make a move, post a picture bees calling me mother, now who’s son and who?”
If you didn’t catch it, Megan was referencing Nicki’s famous catchphrase “these bees is my sons” when she said, “Bees call me mother, who son and who?”
You’d think after all these back-and-forth disses, Meg would step back and give Nicki a break, but it looks like she’s not done yet. She just went after Nicki again in her new song “Rattlesnake” from her self-titled album, and this time, she’s hitting harder than ever. Meg outright called Nicki bitter and took shots at Nicki’s allies, JT, Akbar V, and BIA, accusing them of having a “bitter girl’s linkup” with Nicki. Meg rapped, “Damn B, it’s been four years, worry about your man and your kid. Your life must be boring as F if you still reminiscing about the itch we did. And I ain’t worried about the bitter B link-up, y’all hoes earn them seats in the fan club. Ain’t got no tea on me, this hoe thinks she TMZ.”
Some people think Meg might be talking about Kelsey here since they fell out in 2020, which was four years ago, while she and Nicki had their issues after their collaboration “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019, which was five years ago. But I’ll let you decide who she’s really talking about. That wasn’t the only track where she went after Nicki, though. In her song “Figaroa,” she seems to diss Nicki again, saying she has no interest in copying Nicki’s Barbie persona. She also expressed her disappointment, saying she thought Nicki was real when they collaborated but now feels Nicki was hating on her the whole time. Meg rapped, “I’m an MFM brat, not a Barbie. I wanted everybody right here with me, but that was my fault being too friendly. I thought everything was good, but the whole time you were my enemy. The only time you ninjas agree is when y’all trying to go against me. The only time y’all weak hoes link up is when another beat trying to get rid of me.”
So, as you can see, Megan is clearly fed up with Nicki always talking about her, and she’s finally letting it all out. Even though she didn’t name names in her verses, it’s pretty obvious who she’s talking about, and everyone picked up on it. Now, some people are saying that Megan is still hung up on this beef because she knows it’s the only time people really pay attention to her music, and that’s why she keeps bringing it up. One person said, “Of course she’s talking about Nicki. And don’t complain when Nicki fires back because she definitely will.” Another person said, “Megan needs to stop if she’s talking about Nicki. We’re tired of the same songs, just different beats with one flow.”
