Megan Thee Stallion has just released a new song called “Hiss” that dropped an hour ago, and it’s already making waves! In the song, Megan boldly states, “Don’t be mad at Megan, be mad at Megan’s Law,” referencing the law that requires sex offenders to register. This is a pointed jab at Nicki Minaj, whose husband and brother are both registered offenders.

In a quick response, Nicki previewed her own song, throwing shade at Megan with lyrics like, “A bad bitch like six foot, I call her Bigfoot. A bitch fell off, I told him to get up on her good foot,” alluding to Megan being shot by Tory Lanez. Nicki, who is now 48, is being criticized for her mean-spirited remarks. People are questioning why she’s attacking Megan, especially given her own husband’s criminal past. Even those who aren’t huge fans of Megan are speaking out against Nicki’s behavior.

Lotto has entered the scene, showing her support for Megan Thee Stallion and throwing shade at Nicki. The tension between Lotto and Nicki has been brewing for a while, and it’s finally boiling over. With Lotto’s support, the drama is reaching new levels.

The ongoing social media clash between Megan and Nicki has everyone talking, and Lotto’s involvement is adding more fuel to the fire. Megan appears to have more supporters in the industry than previously thought, with Lotto publicly siding with her. It seems that Lotto is more focused on opposing Nicki than supporting Megan, but given her own past issues with Nicki, it’s not surprising. This alliance against a common foe is only making things more intense.

So, if you don’t remember, Lotto and Nicki Minaj had some drama back in September 2022. It all started when Nicki used Lotto as an example to highlight what she saw as unfair treatment by the Grammys. Nicki was upset because her song “Super Freaky Girl” was moved from the rap category to the pop category. She went live on social media, accusing the Grammys of bias, and pointed out that Lotto’s song “Big Energy” was still in the rap category, even though it sounded more like a pop song than “Super Freaky Girl.”

Nicki said, “If ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is pop, then so is ‘Big Energy.’ If you’re moving my song to pop, do the same with Lotto’s. They even have the same producers!” She also tweeted, “I don’t mind being moved out of rap as long as it’s fair. If ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is pop, then so is ‘Big Energy.’ Anyone who disagrees is just a Nicki hater or a troll. I’d actually love to see a more street record win, whether it’s by a male or female artist.”

Then, Nicki replied to a tweet where Lotto had called her own song “Big Energy” a pop song, saying just, “Yikes.” This really upset Lotto, who then tweeted about not being able to celebrate her wins. Nicki called her out for not supporting her publicly. Lotto revealed that she had been trying to resolve their issues privately because she noticed Nicki shading her online. Lotto said, “I texted you because I didn’t want to do this online with someone I looked up to. I DM’d you before about your subtweets. I wanted to speak up because I agree with your point, but the way you’re handling it feels malicious, especially given how things were left between us.”

She continued, “I’ve ignored countless subtweets since March and addressed you directly in the DMs. You’re asking why I didn’t speak up in your defense; it’s the same answer I gave you when you asked why I didn’t congratulate you. You’re literally older than my mom and trying to bully me.” Nicki then claimed that Lotto was upset because she had refused to feature on her tracks, saying, “Look at how this Karen makes up a fake beef in a passive-aggressive attempt to show her frustration about me politely declining three feature requests. Scratch off is just an entitled Karen who blames others for her album flopping. Better stop it, scratch off.”

Lotto then dragged Nicki’s husband into the situation, saying, “Being subbing super freaky grandma is married and related to F and R words. You ain’t going to bully me. My idol turned rival, now you hating.” She also claimed that Nicki was the common factor in her feuds, saying, “I’ll die on this hill by myself. Everybody ain’t lying on you. We see the pattern. Be for real.” Whenever Nicki gets into an argument, people quickly bring up her husband’s history and use it against her. Megan’s diss might have been the last straw, and that’s why she’s been acting out.

Now, I’m not defending anyone, but people have been using her husband as ammunition against her. She finally had enough and snapped. One interesting thing about this beef with Lotto is that it proved the issues between Nicki and Megan didn’t start overnight; they’ve been simmering for a while. During their spat, Lotto shared screenshots of texts between her and Nicki, saying, “You’ve shown me too much genuine love for what? To be exempt from something? I could say the same thing, but would you, Bigfoot, care?” Nicki was claiming she showed Lotto and someone called Bigfoot so much love, but all she got in return was fake love. At the time, we didn’t know who Bigfoot was, but recently we found out that Bigfoot was Nicki’s code name for Megan Thee Stallion because she got shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.

Though 2022 was full of drama, the tension between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion actually started back in 2020. A lot of people thought their fallout was because Megan worked with Cardi B on “WAP,” but Nicki praised Megan after the song came out. Nicki even celebrated Megan’s college graduation, saying, “One of my favorite things about Megan is her desire to further her education. It’s so important for women to feel inspired to achieve goals outside of social media, where the focus is usually placed on their bodies or who they’re dating at the time. Megan is the perfect example that we can have fun and be smart at the same time.” Despite this, fans weren’t buying it, suspecting Nicki was just trying not to seem like a bully.

The timing was weird, especially after Nicki and Megan quietly unfollowed each other on social media. And as I always say, when celebs start unfollowing each other, something’s definitely up behind the scenes. Their feud was mostly under the radar, though, with just a few subtle digs here and there. But if you were really paying attention, you could catch the shade.

For instance, fans thought Megan threw shade at Nicki in an interview with CR Fashion Book. When asked about women in rap, Megan listed her idols: “Women are killing the rap game, so there’s no debate about our staying power. There’s still work to be done in terms of equality in hip-hop, but it’s come a long way, and we have to thank queens that paved the way for our generation. There is no Megan Thee Stallion without Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah, Trina, Gangsta Boo, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, Eve, and so many others.” The fact that she didn’t mention Nicki, who she had previously called her number one inspiration, was pretty shady to fans.

Nicki’s also been accused of shading Megan. During Megan’s beef with her label, 1501 Entertainment, Nicki seemed to mock her, especially after Megan’s album “Traumazine” underperformed, selling just 69,000 copies in its first week. Megan even sued her label, blaming them for the album’s poor sales and marketing.

Before the official sales numbers were released, Chart Data estimated “Traumazine” would sell 40-50K units in the first week. Soon after, Nicki tweeted, “They want to be us so bad.” While she didn’t name Megan, the timing was suspicious. Nicki’s song “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” also seemed to take a jab at Megan with the lyrics, “700 on them horses when I’m fixing to leave, but I don’t f**k with them horses since Christopher Reeve.” The “horse” reference appeared to be a dig at Megan, aka “stallion.” Fans also thought the lines about “40s and 30 clips” alluded to Megan’s shooting incident with Tory Lanez.

Things got even messier when Nicki performed “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” at the Rolling Loud festival, emphasizing the part about Megan, making sure her message was clear.

“But I don’t f**k with horses since Christopher Reeve, but anyways—” When Nicki dropped “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” Megan was taking a break from social media because of the whole messy Tory Lanez trial. It was a really tough time for her to be online at all since she was getting a lot of hate. Not long after Nicki dissed Megan on stage, one of Megan’s writers, Buddha Bless, hinted on Twitter that Megan was going to release new music where she’d clap back at Nicki. He tweeted, “This soon,” with a horse emoji, and the meaning was pretty clear. This led to a lot of speculation that Megan was planning a diss track, and it seemed like Nicki’s diss really got to her because she came out of her hiatus and attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party, hinting that she was dropping a track aimed at someone specific.

“Are you working on any new music? Can we expect a new single, new album, bye—” Nicki then released her album “Pink Friday 2.0,” and in the song “FTCU,” fans picked up another sneak diss at Megan: “Stay in your Tory Lanez, b**ch, I’m not Iggy.” Many saw this line as a direct shot at Megan, referencing her situation with Tory Lanez and the trial. Despite it being a year since the judgment, a lot of people still blamed Megan for ruining Tory’s life and career, even though she didn’t file the lawsuit.

Nicki also brought Iggy Azalea into it, implying that Megan had been accused of copying Iggy’s visuals. Iggy never addressed these accusations, making Nicki’s line about “stay in your lane ’cause I’m not Iggy” even more pointed.

Nicki finally addressed her fallout with Megan, revealing that it stemmed from an insensitive comment Megan made when Nicki mentioned she might be pregnant. Megan allegedly tried to pressure Nicki into drinking and suggested she go to a clinic. Nicki tweeted, “Y’all want to bring up family members and lying on your dead mother? Told me to drink and go to the clinic if I was pregnant, all because I wouldn’t let your funky butt pour liquor down my throat. Bch thinks she a bully ’cause she got a Roc Nation brunch every year. Bch mad at Party, he told all your tea, but you taking shots at my family? Get up on your good foot, go apologize to your mother, you nasty serpent.”

Nicki admitted she wasn’t pregnant when Megan made that comment, but it offended her deeply, leading to their fallout. The feud continued with Megan shading Nicki, saying, “These girls don’t be mad at Megan. These girls mad at Megan’s Law. I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.” This line set Nicki off, leading her to go live and preview her diss track “Bigfoot.”

“She like six foot, I call her Bigfoot, a b**ch fell off, I told him to get up on her good foot.” Over 72 hours, Nicki released the song, and her fans, the Barbs, boosted its success, breaking records on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. Nicki continued to address the situation in live sessions, mocking Megan for the Tory Lanez incident, blaming her for being single, and accusing her of bringing up old tea from Nicki’s husband’s past.
Nicki Minaj recently sparked controversy with harsh comments directed at Megan Thee Stallion. She accused Megan of dredging up old issues for attention and criticized her music, even mocking Megan’s Grammy wins. The feud escalated as Nicki accused Megan’s management, Roc Nation, of running smear campaigns against her. Despite Nicki’s heated remarks, Megan responded with humor, and fellow artists like Lotto stood by her. Fans expressed sadness over the fallout between once-admiring artists.
