Get ready for some drama, folks, because Keith Lee has been acting out and seems to be having a mental breakdown. He’s been getting physical with people just because they don’t recognize him. Up until recently, many thought Keith was one of the few humble celebrities who didn’t demand special treatment—that’s the image he portrayed. However, things took a turn when he got into a nasty argument with Taji, who didn’t know who he was. Taji even had to step in and try to reason with him, as she couldn’t understand why he was so upset over her not knowing him.
But before we could even process all that, another video went viral. This time, it showed him in a confrontation with an innocent fan who didn’t recognize him and mistook him for Halle Bailey’s boyfriend, DDG. People are dragging him through the mud for it, accusing him of being arrogant. Now, if you haven’t been following this drama, let me catch you up because there’s a lot going on here.
It all started a few days ago when Keith and his wife Ronnie attended the BET Awards. The night started off great, and they seemed to be having a blast. This was their first time at the BET Awards, so everything was a new experience for them. At some point during the night, Taji, the host of this year’s BET Awards, began a game where she walked through the crowd, giving people their flowers. She handed out red roses as a way to celebrate the significant milestones in the careers of some attendees.
When it was time for her to give Keith his flowers, she walked over to where he was sitting but didn’t recognize him and handed the flowers to popular YouTuber Jordan Howlett instead. Realizing her mistake, she quickly apologized and gave the flowers to Keith. You could see the irritation on Keith and his wife’s faces when they realized Taji didn’t recognize him, but Taji tried to lighten the mood by seemingly flirting with him. It seemed like everything was fine, and Keith understood it was an honest mistake.
However, that wasn’t the case. Later, Keith posted a very shady TikTok, angrily throwing out the rose Taji had given him, with a caption that read, “Our name will be known in every room as it should be, with no confusion.” Social media users dragged him mercilessly for this. Many called him arrogant and accused him of having a big ego. One person commented, “Yet another example of how social media makes anybody famous, and it goes to their heads. Honestly, he and Taji shouldn’t even be in the same room. I said what I said, baby.” Another added, “A food critic at the BET Awards, mad that he wasn’t recognized. Honey, why were you there?”

Keith ended up making a video to explain his side of the story, but it only made people more annoyed because they felt he wasn’t making any sense. He blamed everything on BET, claiming they knew he had severe social anxiety but still decided to switch his seat at the last minute. This, he said, confused Taji, who then didn’t know who he was.
Keith said, “So to take me and my wife out of our seats, put us in different seats, and give Taji no direction as to who we are or what we do felt extremely unprepared and unprofessional to me. I’m personally a fan of Taji, have been for years, and I always will be. I love to see her get the recognition she deserved in that moment and to have a platform and a stage she’s always deserved. For this situation to take away from her moment and our moment…”
People were exasperated because Keith didn’t take any accountability and basically blamed the entire situation on BET and his social anxiety. “Like, you cannot make this up,” they said.
He talked about a clip showing his wife making weird faces when Taji was flirting with him. He said people intentionally used that moment to make it look like his wife had an attitude problem. “Another example is a picture of my wife going around that only shows a small part of the moment, making it seem like she had an attitude with Taji. My wife and I both understand that Taji’s flirting was completely improv and just a joke. It was a tough situation for all of us. We knew she was making it up on the fly. I was just there to enjoy the show because I was invited. I’ve never craved the spotlight. If I did, I would have accepted some of the many opportunities that came our way, but none of those were right for me or my family. If you get it, you get it. If not, that’s okay. I’m always going to be myself. This journey, where we are now, or where we’re headed won’t change me. Never have and never will. I wasn’t upset that Taji didn’t know who I was. What’s meant for me will come in its own time, with no confusion. I said that last night, and it was misunderstood, but I stand by it. The right people will know me at the right time. While I appreciate the opportunity, last night wasn’t my moment, and that’s fine. I’m cool with that. I’m grateful to everyone on this journey with me. I can’t thank you enough. God bless you. Have an amazing day. Stay safe. We’re all human and make mistakes. It is what it is. I just wish they had set us both up for more success in that situation. That’s all.”

When Keith started acting out on social media, no one expected Taji to respond because she usually avoids drama. But this time, she didn’t hold back. She called him out, accusing him of having a big ego and telling him to be humble and not blow things out of proportion. Taji said, “Life is too short for this behavior. He wasn’t in his seat. Celebrities have assigned seats. I rehearsed all day to hit my mark, and he missed his moment because he wasn’t there. His ego is hurt, but he’ll be fine. I cleaned it up at the end of the show. No love lost. God bless.”
As if things couldn’t get any worse for him, another video surfaced showing him nearly attacking someone who mistook him for DDG. This incident took place on the same day he attended the BET Awards, probably before the event. His security had to hold him back as he was ready to throw punches. “Oh my God, I knew that was you, bro! DDG, bro! DDG, bro! I thought you were DDG, bro!” For those who don’t know, Keith used to be an MMA fighter for a few years, so getting physical is nothing new to him—he actually enjoys it. If security hadn’t stepped in, that fan likely would have ended up with some bruises and a few hits to the face.
Some people say he was still upset about it, which is why he took the Taji situation so personally and overreacted. One person commented, “Is it just me, or are these comments weird? LMAO. I see so many people talking about how he’s an MMA fighter. Okay, but what does that have to do with this? It’s not that serious. You all act like he spat on him or hit him. He jokingly mistook him for someone else, and Keith said he watches his content and likes it. Are you all being obtuse? LMAO, it’s not that deep. You all need to relax and actually read. And if Keith has severe social anxiety, maybe this isn’t the right industry for him. Next.” Another person added, “Yuck, his real personality is starting to show, and I don’t like it. It’s not that serious. Relax, smile, and laugh. Jeez.”
