Kanye West Criticizes Kim Kardashian Over North’s Public Appearances: “I’m Not Letting My Daughter Be Exploited!”
Kanye West has made it clear that he doesn’t want his daughter North to be used for publicity. “I’m not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok, to be used by Disney. I have a say. It’s two things I said: tell her security not going to be in between me and my kids, and also tell her don’t have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok.”
Despite North’s budding musical talent, which mirrors her father’s, Kanye isn’t thrilled about her recent Lion King performance. Rumor has it that he’s accusing Kim Kardashian of bribing the director to get North the lead role of Simba. Over the years, Kanye has consistently voiced his desire for North to stay out of the public eye, hoping to give her a normal childhood away from social media’s glare.
The recent performance at the Hollywood Bowl was the tipping point for Kanye. He allegedly lashed out at Kim, accusing her of exploiting North for personal gain. “This must have cost a pretty penny,” he said, expressing his outrage at what he sees as blatant nepotism and entitlement from the Kardashian clan.
Over the weekend, while fans were enjoying North’s rendition of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” Kanye was reportedly fuming on the sidelines. The ongoing feud between him and Kim over their parenting styles resurfaced. Kanye wants their kids to have as normal a life as possible, while Kim seems eager to push them into the spotlight. Before they had children, they both agreed to keep their kids off the Kardashian show until they were old enough to decide for themselves. However, Kim changed her stance after North was born, encouraging her to appear on the show.
A source revealed, “Kim wants to put North on the show. Kim has always been an open book with her fans, but once Kanye came on the scene, that all changed. Kanye shuts Kim down whenever she brings it up. He doesn’t want his only child to ever pop on the show because he believes reality TV is tacky. He doesn’t want North on display. He will be very happy when Kim is done with the show.”
Kanye might have had a valid reason for wanting to protect North from the cameras. Despite being an only child, she already faces a crazy amount of hate online. For instance, she got flak just for asking paparazzi not to take her picture.

North clearly isn’t a fan of strangers snapping pictures of her, which is totally understandable. However, she caught a surprising amount of hate for it, which Kanye had been trying to protect her from the start. Things seemed to have only escalated, especially now that North has her own TikTok page. Technically, it was a joint account with Kim since TikTok’s rules require users to be at least 13 years old to create an account, but Kim got around this by presenting it as a shared account. But let’s be real, it’s obvious that it’s North’s page because she does most of the posting, sometimes even featuring her younger siblings in the videos.
Kanye has made it more than clear that he doesn’t want North on TikTok, and he has called Kim out numerous times, saying, “Since this is my first divorce, I need to know what I should do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will.” However, Kim went on the defense and said, “Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media are actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes, with adult supervision, because it brings her happiness.”
She continued, “Divorce is difficult enough on our children, and his obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all. From the beginning, I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship because it is what is best for our children, and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way.”
Now, I’m not saying that Kim is a bad mom or anything like that. I’m just saying that she has a very different opinion on raising North than Kanye does, and that’s more than obvious. She’s more open, and the Kardashians are known for being obsessed with social media, so it’s not exactly surprising that she would be more relaxed than Kanye about letting North use social media and be more exposed to all of it. Plus, Kim has been making some solid moves to secure North’s future. Apart from her very fat trust fund, she has also filed to trademark North’s name in four different categories. The first category includes non-medicated skin preparations, skin moisturizers, skin lotions, skin creams, skin cleansers, and other skin products. The second trademark details toy figures. The third promises advertising services, and the fourth includes entertainment in the nature of providing information via a global computer network in the fields of entertainment and pop culture. Yeah, Kim is trying to cover all the bases for her new famous baby.
Despite everything, Kanye has frequently criticized Kim for not letting him have a say in how their kids are raised. In one post, he declared, “I’m the kids’ father,” and captioned it with, “Imagine not having any say in where your kids go to school.” People tried to accuse him of being petty, but he fired back, insisting the Kardashians were manipulating him regarding his kids and expressing his displeasure with how his daughters were being portrayed. He said, “Anybody that says I’m spiraling when I express the undeniable truth is a sheep. Shut up and worry about your own kids. I obviously am dealing with wars at the highest level of control and discrimination based on the level I’m operating at. I know girls who sell their bodies that don’t agree with how my daughters are displayed.”
Kim also faced backlash when she arranged a meeting between North and rapper Ice Spice, which wasn’t entirely random. Ice Spice has a large audience, including pre-teen girls, despite her lyrics suggesting otherwise. Fans accused Kim of forcing North to grow up too fast and act too mature for her age.
Kanye was quick to express his disapproval and called Kim out for ignoring his wishes about North using TikTok. “With Kim, I told her to stop antagonizing me with this TikTok thing. I said, ‘It’s never again.’ I am her father. I know y’all don’t respect fathers, and the idea of family makes you feel like you’re in control, but I have a say.”
He added, “When people say, ‘Oh, they’re going to use this in society today,’ that’s not even it. It always leans towards the mom. But right now, I’m happy that you guys got to see just a small piece of what I dealt with.” Kim has also been accused of using North for clout on multiple occasions, like trying to get under Kanye’s skin after he married his new wife, Bianca.
The real controversy began when Kim Kardashian brought her daughter North to the Met Gala last year. While Kim’s outfit was stunning—her hair, makeup, and everything on point—it wasn’t her look that made headlines. Instead, it was her decision to bring North that had everyone buzzing.
If you’re wondering why this caused such a fuss, here’s the deal. The Met Gala has a strict rule that attendees must be at least 18 years old, and North is well under that age. This rule was put in place in 2018 after the event got backlash when 19-year-old Elle Fanning was seen posing with a wine glass. The organizers wanted to avoid any more controversies and decided to ban minors altogether.

So, when Kim showed up with North, it was a big deal. It might have been cute if North wasn’t so young, but photos showed her looking uncomfortable before they even got to the event. She seemed out of place, and Kim was busy posing for the cameras on the red carpet.
North has never seemed to enjoy these big social events, so it’s strange that Kim keeps bringing her along. In the videos, North looks scared, and it gets even worse. Since kids aren’t allowed inside, North couldn’t go in, and Kim just left her outside while she enjoyed the event.
Oh my God, she’s so overwhelmed. North probably was as safe as could be with a million security guards around her, so safety wasn’t the main issue. But people are asking why Kim took North to the Met Gala, knowing she couldn’t go inside and would have to wait outside, being recorded by strangers, which North hates. Kim has a history of doing things Kanye hates when it comes to North, and it looks like her recent Lion King performance was no different.
Last week, North stepped into the spotlight for her acting debut in The Lion King stage show. It was part of the Hollywood Bowl’s celebration of 30 years of the iconic Disney film on May 24th and 25th. The 10-year-old played young Simba and sang “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.”
The performance had a Hakuna Matata vibe, but remember, she’s only 10. She has plenty of time to improve, just like Blue Ivy did with each performance. However, some people think the role should have gone to someone with more advanced acting and vocal skills. Sadly, North has been getting a lot of criticism, which is unfair because it’s just adults hating on a child living her dream.
According to an insider, Kanye is furious at Kim, believing she paid for North to get the role. Kanye thinks Kim is using North for attention and that she’s benefiting from the publicity. He believes North would be better off if Kim made her work for her achievements. He doesn’t want his kids growing up as “nepo babies” who get things handed to them without hard work. But Kim seems to be doing the opposite, and he allegedly hates it.
Fans have been leaving comments like, “North West wasn’t good in The Lion King, and her family didn’t help by letting her perform. Not all kids excel at everything, and they need to learn that. There were likely dozens of experienced kids who deserved the role more. North West shouldn’t have been on that stage.”
“And so, Kim paid for North to be in a Hollywood production of The Lion King but didn’t ensure she was prepared. It’s embarrassing to watch.”
No matter how the performance went, it’s sad to see so much hate directed at a 10-year-old.
