Jordan Woods is finally opening up about Kylie’s intense obsession with trying to look like a Black woman, and the details are even messier than you might think. The Kardashian-Jenner sisters have been accused of cultural appropriation many times, with some people even thinking they are Black. Out of all the sisters, Kylie Jenner is probably the one who has gone to the greatest lengths to look like a Black woman—from countless surgeries to taking men from her Black friends, and even stealing ideas from Black-owned businesses. If there’s one person who has seen it all and actually suffered from it, it’s Kylie’s ex-best friend, Jordan Woods. So, did Kylie really try to look like Jordan? Let’s dive into it.

As many of you probably know, Kylie and Jordyn sent the internet into a frenzy when they were spotted together four years after the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal. This was a huge surprise because no one expected it, especially after how Kylie and her family publicly dragged Jordyn on social media and tried to ruin her life. Jordyn had said, “I’m not here to play the victim. I’m here to take responsibility. I’m no homewrecker. I would never try to hurt someone’s home, especially someone that I love.”

Despite this, it seems like Jordyn is still hesitant about rekindling her friendship with Kylie. Insiders say she’s grown a lot over the years and now realizes that even though Kylie was her friend, their friendship came with a lot of baggage. That’s why she’s being very cautious about getting too close again. Kylie’s and her sisters’ behavior, often seen as opportunistic, has caused plenty of drama, especially when Kylie was called out by fans for posting an Instagram photo where she looked noticeably darker and seemed to be copying Jordyn Woods’ style.

One person commented, “I see a white woman with a skin tone like mine, but she switches it up depending on the day.” Another said, “She looks like Jordan at first glance. It’s only been a few weeks since Kylie and Jordan reconciled, and Kylie is already copying Jordan’s style.” Accusations of Kylie trying hard to look like a Black woman aren’t new. They started back in 2017 when fans noticed a big change in her appearance after she began dating Tyga. She started wearing more colorful lace front wigs, acting sassier, and making her lips and hips look fuller. Before dating Tyga, she never did any of this, so many people thought she was trying to look like a Black girl to appeal to the Black community because she was dating a famous rapper. Some even noted the striking resemblance between Kylie and Tyga’s ex, Blac Chyna. Tyga confirmed these accusations during a candid interview with Nicki Minaj on her famous Queen Radio show.

Tyga claimed that Kylie asked him for tips on how to look more like a Black woman to better connect with the Black community. He said he gave her advice on how to brand her makeup line, but she never gave him any credit. “I told her things like, ‘You can do this, you should try that, maybe style your hair like this.’ I explained that she needed the support of Black people and culture to succeed. Without that, she wouldn’t have much. There were a lot of things I helped with, but I’m not bitter because I believe in karma. The universe will pay me back.” Now, people are saying it looks like Kylie just used Tyga and the Black community to get what she wanted and then moved on.

Oh, but she wasn’t done yet. Kylie quickly entered into another relationship, this time with Travis Scott. Some fans even accused her of using Travis to have mixed-race babies after a video went viral of Kylie telling Jordyn how happy she was that her daughter, Stormi, inherited Travis’s Black features. “One thing I was insecure about, she has. She has the most perfect lips. She does, in the whole entire world. She didn’t get those from me. People are more than her dad.”

Many fans criticized Kylie for adopting styles typically worn by Black girls and for excessively tanning to appear multiracial. The worst part was that she received praise for it and even landed on several magazine covers, while Jordyn was left in the shadows. To make matters worse, Kylie often got away with her Blackfishing largely because of her friendship with Jordyn.
Remember that super awkward time when Kylie got dragged all over social media for posting a photo of herself with cornrows on Instagram and captioning it “White girls do it better”? She quickly changed it to “I woke up like this” after causing a stir. Anyway, it wasn’t until Jordan stopped hanging out with Kylie that she started getting the recognition she deserved. Jordan has since launched her own clothing line and even collaborated with Boohoo. You could say Kylie was blocking Jordan’s shine. But really, are we surprised? The Kardashians have a track record of appropriating from Black culture, especially from Black women, without giving credit.

Speaking of Kylie Jenner taking styles from Black women without giving credit, remember that time she copied Rihanna’s look and acted like it was her own? It all started when Kylie posted a photo in a catsuit that looked almost exactly like the leopard print one Rihanna wore a few weeks earlier. Page Six then stirred things up by tweeting a side-by-side comparison, asking fans who wore it better. People were not having it and slammed Page Six for even comparing Kylie to Rihanna. One person said, “Baby, you can’t compete where you don’t compare. Don’t disrespect Miss Fenty like this.” But Kylie wasn’t done yet. In 2020, she did it again, this time looking like Beyoncé’s twin. She posted a photo with Beyoncé’s signature hairstyle, wearing the same outfit Beyoncé had worn just weeks before.

Let’s not forget that Kylie and her sister Kendall released a clothing line featuring the faces of Black hip-hop legends like Tupac and Biggie without even asking for permission from their families. They didn’t plan on giving any profits to the families, either. Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace, was furious when she saw this. She took to Instagram to call out the exploitation of her son, saying, “I’m not sure who told Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner they have the right to do this. The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel like they can exploit the deaths of Tupac and my son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst.”

Kylie Jenner has been accused of not only taking ideas from Black celebrities but also from Black-owned businesses. One notable accusation came from a Black-owned fashion brand called Plugged NYC. The brand claimed that Kylie’s camo-printed streetwear line looked almost identical to their designs. The designer shared an email from Kylie ordering clothes from Plugged NYC, along with a side-by-side photo comparison of the two collections on Instagram. This sparked widespread backlash, including an article in Teen Vogue that said, “Since the Kardashians-Jenners first rose to fame, they’ve been lauded left and right as revolutionary for embracing looks Black women have been overlooked for or outright degraded for, looks that run the gamut from cornrows to full lips. Now Kylie is allegedly taking her design ideas straight from Black creatives to turn a profit.”

Reports also suggest that Jordyn Woods is frustrated with Kylie’s apparent obsession with looking like her, which has influenced how she interacts with Kylie.
