Hey everyone, there’s some serious buzz about Ice Cube having dirt on Diddy and the federal investigation that’s currently in progress. Remember last November when Cassie went public about her situation with Diddy? Since then, he’s been in deep trouble – his home was raided by Homeland Security, there’s a federal investigation, and there’s even talk about a grand jury indictment coming up.
With so many rumors and allegations flying around, it’s been hard to keep everything straight. Now, Ice Cube is saying that it’s all a bunch of nonsense, part of a scheme by powerful people to make Diddy the fall guy for their own shady activities. So, is Ice Cube suggesting that Diddy is actually innocent? Why does he think Diddy is being framed? Let’s break it down.
Ice Cube isn’t the first to claim Diddy is being set up. Others have said the same thing. For instance, when Homeland Security raided Diddy’s home, Candace Owens tweeted: “The Feds are raiding Diddy’s house right now. They already knew what he was up to, but they’re making him the fall guy to protect those higher up. They’re raiding his home to hide evidence, not to find it. That’s how this works.”
A couple of months ago, Eddie Griffin claimed the raid on Diddy was a setup by the Feds, along with some powerful Hollywood figures. He mentioned Clive Davis and another influential guy he called LG. If you’re in the know, you probably have an idea who LG is. According to Eddie, Clive Davis and LG were behind the whole scheme to frame Diddy.
“This raid wasn’t just a random hit on the guy’s property,” Eddie explained. “Usually, you wouldn’t alert the press about a raid on Puffy’s house; you’d just do it quietly, and people would find out later. But we saw footage of the authorities arriving at his place. Someone’s pulling strings here, likely from the Universal Group,” Eddie continued, suggesting that Clive and LG orchestrated the raid because they believed Diddy had compromising tapes of them. They needed to get those tapes, so they set him up.
Eddie went on to say, “They threw him under the bus. When you get involved in this kind of stuff, sometimes you have to take the fall. But Diddy was smart. He had tapes on Clive and LG, and they needed those tapes to avoid being blackmailed. It sounds crazy, but it kind of lines up with what Lil Rod mentioned in his lawsuits about LG using his company to enable Diddy’s bad behavior in exchange for a cut of the profits.”
According to court documents, from around 2000 until about November 2023, LG and Universal Music Group took concrete steps to support a sex trafficking venture. This included concealing large sums of money, likely millions of dollars, given to Mr. Combs and his associates. The documents further accuse LG and UMG of going to great lengths to protect Diddy’s alleged sex trafficking operation. They allegedly failed to file required tax disclosures with the federal government because doing so would threaten their ability to profit from the venture. The documents also claim that they continued to help Diddy hide the operation because they were making a lot of money from it.
Lil Rod didn’t hold back in his lawsuit, accusing LG and Universal Music Group of knowingly participating in sex trafficking and aiding Combs’ ventures. He claimed that their actions were crucial for the success of these ventures, showing active involvement by the defendants. While LG was allegedly involved in setting Diddy up, Ice Cube also implicated Clive Davis.
Ice Cube has suggested that Clive played a significant role in Diddy’s downfall. In a recent interview, he mentioned that he had known Diddy since the ’90s but noted that they drifted apart around 1994. Coincidentally, this was the year when a woman accused Diddy of assault, marking one of his first known cases.
Ice Cube explained that he lost touch with Puffy around 1994 because he was focused on his own career and wasn’t into the party scene. He said, “I never went to Diddy’s parties. I never really wanted to go, and I don’t go to a lot of people’s parties. That’s just how I am.”

When asked about his reaction to the news about Diddy and the Feds, Ice Cube responded, “Are you surprised at what things are coming out with Diddy?” He said, “You have no idea. It’s none of my business. You live long enough, and you see a lot of things. How could you be surprised with anything that happens in Hip Hop? Hip Hop is the wild west. You’re going to have good, and you’re going to have bad.”
When asked if Diddy is being targeted by the Feds as part of a cover-up, Ice Cube replied, “I believe he’s being targeted.” He elaborated, “Yeah, I believe somebody has the power to pull the trigger to make this stuff go down.”
Ice Cube also implicated Clive Davis, saying, “You can say what you want about Diddy, but Diddy didn’t learn to like young boys on his own. He learned it from a man named Clive Davis.”
There have long been allegations that Diddy was a victim of Clive Davis in his early music industry days. Rumors have swirled for years, suggesting that Diddy’s big break and the creation of Bad Boy Records in 1994 involved some questionable favors for Clive. Notably, this was the same year Ice Cube claimed he stopped hanging out with Diddy, hinting that he might know more than he’s revealing.
Adding to the intrigue, there are speculations that Diddy and Clive were more than just business partners, with some believing they had a secret romantic relationship for about five years. Clive Davis confirmed in his memoir that he is bisexual, which has added credibility to these rumors. He wrote, “I only turned to my bisexuality after my second marriage, so it wasn’t an issue throughout my life. Neither of my marriages was affected. I was completely attracted to women during the marriages. In the mid-’80s, I opened myself up to the possibility of having relationships with men as well as women.”
During this time, Diddy was working for Andre Harrell at Uptown Records. According to Jaguar Wright, Andre had a close relationship with Clive until Diddy allegedly came into the picture and began a relationship with Clive himself. This eventually led Clive to leave Andre for Diddy. Jaguar said, “I honestly think Diddy is an extreme narcissist who loves power and the ability to manipulate and control people. Most likely, he was victimized by his mentor, who also loved to control people, and that mentor was Andre Harrell.” She further claimed that Diddy went behind Andre’s back to secure a deal with Clive, cutting Andre out. “Andre got passed over. How do you go from being the president of Uptown and losing your entire company to your intern? Puff started out as an intern.”
The situation is a chaotic mess, but with Ice Cube’s testimony, we have to wonder if there’s more to this than we realize. Now, I’m not saying Diddy is innocent—there’s plenty of video evidence showing him doing some pretty crazy stuff to Cassie—but he’s not the only one at fault, and it seems like there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes.
Fans have been reacting, leaving comments like, “Eddie never lied. There’s a reason Diddy hasn’t been arrested yet and is still out biking and hanging out. They got what they wanted: those tapes. There’s more to it. Diddy is the scapegoat here. He’s not innocent, but some big players need to go down with him.”
