People are making a living by telling lies. They’re literally lying for a living. You get what I mean?

Drake got “Not Like Us” banned in Houston. That’s not being unbothered; that’s definitely bothered. He even issued a cease and desist.

If you thought the Drake vs. Kendrick drama was intense before, brace yourself because it’s about to get even spicier. Rumor has it Drake is gearing up to drop a new diss track and he’s trolling Kendrick on Instagram again. But can Drake really hold his own against Kendrick without his protector, J Prince? Prince has been MIA ever since Kendrick warned he could keep his son out of the game for ages. J Prince has always been like Drake’s personal superhero, stepping in to handle any industry beef. But during this major showdown with Kendrick, Prince was nowhere to be seen, and Drake is reportedly furious. He was sure Houston, especially J Prince, would support him over Kendrick, but that didn’t go as planned.

Word on the street is Drake recently previewed his new Kendrick diss track in a Houston club, but the reaction was underwhelming. Drake also tried to ban Houston clubs from playing “Not Like Us,” expecting J Prince’s support, but the song is still getting regular play. Even Houston weathermen are mocking Drake, referencing “Not Like Us” in their reports.

For example, one said, “It’s going to feel hotter for several days. We’re seeing heat indexes well over 100, but the main story is that we’re just stocking up on hot days. How many stocks do I really have in stock? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, plus 5. Look at this, we’ve got temperatures hitting 90-plus for several days in a row.”

So, what’s really going on between Drake and Houston? Is his alliance with J Prince broken beyond repair? Why did J Prince disappear at the worst possible time? Could Kendrick have some leverage over J Prince? Let’s dive in and find out.
People outside of Texas might think J Prince runs the state, but that’s not really the case in Houston. Even Wack 100, who was here last week, doesn’t think so. It’s kind of like how people believed Suge Knight was a lot tougher than he actually was. So, is J Prince’s tough-guy image just marketing? Honestly, he’s a music mogul and nothing more. He’s in the music industry, not running some mafia. TI isn’t part of a real mob either.

J Prince has always had Drake’s back in the music world, almost like a guardian angel, swooping in whenever someone came after him. Remember when Pusha T called out Drake for being a deadbeat dad? J Prince stepped in and stopped Drake from making things worse. Prince said Drake wanted to fire back at both Pusha and Kanye, but he held off out of respect for J Prince. But let’s be real, both Drake and Prince knew a response wouldn’t have ended Pusha or Kanye’s careers.

So, did J Prince end the beef between Drake and Pusha? It seems like it because there hasn’t been any drama since. Was there a phone call involved? Yes, J Prince got to talk to Kanye. There were rumors about Drake hinting that he slept with Kim in a song, but that was never confirmed. Despite the gossip, it didn’t make sense for them to dwell on it, so they moved on. This took a lot of restraint, especially in the social media age where losing online can feel like losing in real life.

Imagine how hard it was for Drake that week, with everyone wondering why he didn’t respond. Some people thought he had a track that could have ended Pusha and Kanye’s careers, while others just wondered why he stayed silent.

J Prince’s influence and Drake’s respect for him were key in the decision not to respond. J Prince stressed the importance of staying calm, and when they looked at the bigger picture, it didn’t make sense to escalate things. It’s like when Jay-Z’s second diss track against Nas got too personal and backfired because it involved family matters, making Jay-Z look bad in the end.
You know, sometimes a loss can actually be a win, depending on how you look at it. We couldn’t get too caught up in that. Basically, it seems like Jay was just protecting his investment. If he thought Drake could handle that battle, he would’ve let it continue. So, it’s safe to say Drake didn’t have a strong comeback for “The Story of Adidon.”

As for Drake and Kanye, they were beefing for years, but J Prince managed to get them to call a truce for that Larry Hoover benefit concert in December 2021.

“Yo, this is Jay and J Prince. I’m making this video to address the ongoing back and forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have had our issues, and it’s time to put it to rest. I’m asking Drake to join me on stage on December 7th in Los Angeles to perform the two biggest albums of the year, with the ultimate goal of freeing Larry.”

I think this event will not only raise awareness for our cause but also show people what we can accomplish when we set our pride aside and come together.

Now, about NBA YoungBoy. When he dissed Drake in one of his tracks, J Prince wasn’t having it. He allegedly tried to extort YoungBoy by sending people to rob him, then said he could help get some of his stuff back.

“While we were gone, I got a call about YoungBoy’s place being broken into. The guys who did it want to make things right because they know YoungBoy is connected to me. So, to cut a long story short, I have your keys to your Rolls-Royce and McLaren, and some other stuff. Get in touch with us to get your things back.”

But YoungBoy wasn’t falling for it and called out J Prince on IG Live.

“Hey, I don’t know friends. I don’t know new relationships. I don’t respect any of that stuff, man. If you have something for me, there are plenty of ways to reach me. Don’t go public with it. And I’m good on keys. When you buy cash, two keys come with it anyway. Mind your business, man.”

Even Diddy wasn’t safe. Remember when Diddy slapped Drake in a packed club? J Prince wasn’t having any of that either. He dropped a diss track going after Diddy, Birdman, Lil Wayne, and even Suge Knight, letting them know Drake was off-limits. He directly warned Diddy that if he messed with Drake again, his own family could be in danger.

“Yeah, they’re waking a sleeping giant. Let me put these bullies on notice: Drake’s family is off-limits, and I’m aware of the weak stuff from Puffy and Suge. Puffy thinking he can put his hands on my family opens the door for his family to be touched. You reap what you sow. And to Suge, Fa, Lil Wayne, and the rest, you know I ride with Drake, so I accept any challenge you bring. I’m your worst nightmare. By the way, Lil Wayne’s manager is a drunk, and his lawyer is a thief. So f*** all of them. And to Baby and Slim, I won’t let it be said that Cash Money took anything from me and my son. Do right by me and pay every penny due. I’m not going to litigate, but if any of you cross me or my family, bad news will beat you home.

J Prince has always been Drake’s secret weapon, handling business and ensuring nobody disrespects him. Naturally, Drake expected Prince to have his back when the Kendrick situation started blowing up. But ever since Kendrick warned Drake he could go deeper if pressed, J Prince has been MIA. Some speculate that J Prince is worried about Kendrick exposing his alleged responsibility for Takeoff’s death. You know how Kendrick raps about his daddy being a killer on Euphoria? He wants to be Junior. They must have forgotten that dementia runs in his family, but let it get shaky. I’ll park his son. Many believe this was a reference to J Prince and his son, Jas Prince, since Jas was supposedly in charge of Takeoff and Quavo’s protection the night Takeoff was shot in Houston.

Houston and Atlanta ties go way back, so when Takeoff tragically died, everyone thought he and his crew were under J Prince’s protection. Turns out the shooter allegedly had ties to J Prince, and now many in Atlanta are giving them the side-eye. J Prince is all wrapped up in this mess, and he probably doesn’t have time to deal with Drake right now. But guess what? Drake is not having it. He’s throwing a fit over J Prince walking out on him when he needed him most. Drake is desperately trying to keep his Houston connections. Word on the street is that he tried to ban “Not Like Us” from certain Houston clubs, and according to DJ Akademiks, Drake recently previewed a new Kendrick diss in Houston.”
I heard there was a record played at some place in Houston—well, it’s like a club, I guess—and it sounded like Drake was dissing someone.

But people in Houston are saying Drake doesn’t control anything here. Apparently, “Not Like Us” is played regularly in H-Town. One person said, “I live in Houston, and that’s not true. ‘Not Like Us’ is popular in all the hot lounges and spots.” Someone else added, “Not Like Us is going to be played all the way through November. LOL, we haven’t even gotten to homecoming season yet.” It looks like Drake is really upset with J Prince and Houston for turning their backs on him, and word is that Drake might go after Prince in a diss track aimed at Kendrick. Meanwhile, Drake is back on Instagram, trolling Kendrick with sneaky digs. He recently liked a video of a DJ in Dubai talking about how California gang members had to unite to dethrone a Canadian. Drake also posted a mirror selfie wearing a Tupac “Only God Can Judge Me” t-shirt, posing like an Instagram model. On July 28th, a video of a Drake impersonator performing “Hotline Bling” at a New York boxing gym started circulating online, and Drake shared it on his IG story with a caption quoting “Not Like Us,” saying, “Sometimes you gotta pop out.” At this point, Drake seems to be proving Kendrick right—he really is a fan.

As for the J Prince situation, fans are saying Drake should just cut his losses and salvage what’s left of his career because clearly, Prince isn’t on his side anymore. One fan commented, “Houston is a unique city. You need to know how to treat her, and you can’t claim her. Beyoncé, Solange, Barbara Jordan, Sheila Jackson Lee—all fierce women inspired by her. Just when you think you’re on top, she’s ready to expose you and move on. J Prince will protect J Prince. If Drake did him wrong, see the above description. This isn’t Drake’s tunnel vision of Toronto. Got my popcorn and a comfy chair. Let the show begin.” Another fan added, “Houston is part of the culture, and you heard what K-Dot said, so ‘Not Like Us’ is definitely being played around here. Drake’s testing the waters to see who’s with him and who’s not. LOL.”

What’s your take on this whole situation with Drake, J Prince, and Houston? Why do you think J Prince turned his back on Drake? Let me know in the comments
