Now, with 50 Cent criticizing Diddy for sexual assault allegations, you’d think 50 Cent would be on the side of supporting victims, not defending abusers. Some people have been hinting at this contradiction for a while, but most of us are just finding out after he mocked Michael Rainey Jr., who recently revealed he was a victim of sexual assault.
This all unfolded during Tyler James’ livestream. While most fans were showing support for Michael, 50 Cent decided to make fun of and dismiss the situation. Then, to add to the drama, Diddy chimed in to call out 50 Cent for being a hypocrite.
But 50 Cent didn’t take Diddy’s criticism lightly and fired back at him. This is turning into another big mess, so let’s break it down.
It’s really strange that 50 Cent would shame someone for being a victim of sexual assault, especially since he’s been so vocal about supporting survivors and criticizing Diddy for similar allegations. What’s with this double standard when it comes to Michael Rainey?
He announced that he was working on a documentary about Diddy’s allegations, teasing it with, “Did he do it? Coming soon. GLG (Green Light Gang) and another one.” He mentioned that rapper A thought Diddy was a billionaire music mogul and added, “If he’s smart, he will file for bankruptcy.” He claimed that anyone with real money would understand his point, stating, “I’m the best producer for the job, guys. Here come the receipts.” He also promised to donate some documentary profits to SA victims, earning praise from fans who said, “Finally, a guy in the industry speaking out against SA.”

However, his reaction to Michael Rainey Jr., one of the stars of his popular TV shows, is making fans question his motives. They’re starting to suspect that the documentary and trolling Diddy might not be about genuine concern for SA victims but rather a desire to see his longtime rival exposed and ruined.
For some context, Michael Rainey Jr. went live with Tyler James Jr., and things were going well until Tyler’s sister acted out of line. She came into the frame and grabbed Michael. The atmosphere changed, and you could tell that Michael, who tried to laugh it off, was visibly uncomfortable. He winced and moved away, making it clear he didn’t appreciate being touched like that. Despite his reaction, he didn’t outright say no, leading Tyler to possibly think everything was fine.
Let me tell you, Michael was not okay with any of it, and fans quickly called out Tyler and his sister. They went in hard on the sister for not respecting personal space and touching without asking. Tyler also caught some heat for not stepping in when things got awkward.
Things got even messier when Tyler went live and seemed to defend his sister’s actions instead of acknowledging how uncomfortable Michael felt. He said, “I’m trying to ignore this, but I’m getting texts. The energy shifted and left. It really made me feel a certain way because, when people come to your home, it’s about hospitality. Everything stopped because I was trying to ignore what was spamming. It got me feeling a way because, bro, I’m around celebrities all day. Even when I first started being around celebrities, don’t get me wrong, I would try to get a video or a picture, whatever. But over time, you realize we’re all the same. My sister had never seen someone of this caliber, so she reacted that way. That’s my sister, so I’m not going to say anything bad about her. I’ll just tell her that we’re all the same, all human. If he’s here for me, he’s here for you. I got people telling me to be aware of who I have around when these types of people come. Why should I? We’re all equal. It’s about respect. It made me so mad, bro. Nothing has ever made me more mad than this.”
Yeah, it was messy. Michael eventually addressed the situation himself, saying, “At this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online, and I’m still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night. This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way. I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed. The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We should all respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”
It’s impressive to see such a mature response from such a young man. But after the incident, insiders revealed that Michael had already talked to a lawyer about possibly suing Tyler and his sister. Apparently, Michael is looking to file a lawsuit against Tyler’s sister for SA and against Tyler himself for not stepping in, even though he knew what was going on.

The threat of a lawsuit clearly frightened Tyler, who eventually issued an apology. He said, “After what happened during my stream last night, I want to sincerely apologize to Michael and his family. My little sister was completely out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I’m truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions.” He continued, “I completely respect whatever direction Michael wants to take in this situation. After watching the clip, I was shocked by what she’d done. I will take extreme precautions with future streams to avoid similar issues and have banned her from participating in future streams. I do not condone any type of SA.”
Most fans are supporting Michael, except for 50 Cent, who happens to be Michael Rainey Jr.’s boss. 50 Cent is the executive producer of the hit show Power, where Michael plays Tariq.
Given how 50 Cent has been calling out Diddy since the beginning of the year, we expected him to keep that same energy and go after Tyler and his sister, especially since Michael was somewhat of his employee. But that wasn’t exactly the case. Instead of criticizing the situation and calling it wrong, he made fun of it and shamed Michael for calling it sexual assault (SA).
50 Cent said, “Wait, SA from a male perspective? This was an aggressive advance. He’s fine, no charges are being pressed.” Fans were upset and seriously not feeling it, and they called him out for being such a hypocrite.
People started connecting the dots and brought up how his ex and baby mama, Daphne Joy, had accused him of the exact same thing. Someone spilled the tea in his lawsuit, claiming Daphne was allegedly working as a “Nest worker” for Diddy.
50 Cent wasted no time going after her, trolling her, and dragging her through the mud on social media. He said, “I didn’t know you were a worker, you little worker. Yo, this is your movie.” He also accused her of trying to trap him with another baby, saying, “You moved a mile away in hopes of having another baby with me, but I was busy, so you moved back and then you started receiving money from Brother Love. Now here we are, little ex-worker.”
But Daphne wasn’t about to let him have the last word in this drama. She posted her own statement on Instagram, accusing him of being as bad as Diddy and mistreating her. She wrote, “Everything is a joke to you until your safety is compromised, which is happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos in people’s lives. Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of assaulting and physically hurting me. You are no longer my oppressor, and my God will handle you from now on. You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father. You have broken our hearts for the last and final time.”

According to an insider, Diddy has been mocking 50 Cent over all this, saying that 50 Cent is no better. The insider claimed that Diddy has been celebrating 50 Cent’s exposure because now people can see that 50 isn’t the great guy he pretends to be. Allegedly, the real reason behind 50 Cent’s activism is because he hates Diddy, not because he cares about any victims.
A fan commented, “50 Cent employed Michael Rainey Jr., who was publicly assaulted, and 50’s response was to insult him, gaslight him, and dismiss the situation, all during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Men don’t care about other men, of course. He dismissed Michael Rainey Jr., the lead in one of his shows, being assaulted on camera, but some of y’all put him on a pedestal when it comes to Diddy. His motivations are strictly personal. He does not care about assault or domestic and intimate violence. The amount of toxic masculinity exhibited by men born in the 80s, 70s, and 60s, and before, sickens me. Michael Rainey Jr. was assaulted live in front of many people and teens. For 50 Cent to call it an aggressive advance truly makes me want to vomit.”
