Hey everyone! Welcome back Today, I want to chat about Glorilla, who’s really stepping into the spotlight as the next big female rap star. Honestly, she’s having an amazing year. I mean, she’s gotten some serious love from heavyweights like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and even Taylor Swift! I was totally shocked when I saw Taylor vibing to Glorilla’s song with Sexy Red, “What You Know About Me.” That caught me off guard in the best way!
It’s clear that Glorilla is racking up some major co-signs, and I truly believe she’s the industry’s next big push in female rap. Her album Gloria debuted with an impressive 69,000 copies sold in its first week, which is no small feat! Who would have thought she’d outshine so many of her peers like this? Right now, the only artists ahead of her are Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj. She’s already surpassed Ice Spice, JT, and Lotto, which is pretty remarkable!
Speaking of Lotto, I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed her album Sugar Honey Iced Tea. To be honest, I think both Lotto’s album and Doja’s Alligator Bites Never Heal were even better than Glorilla’s. But hey, that’s just my opinion! Both of those albums are solid hip-hop projects. Still, they didn’t quite match up to Glorilla’s numbers, which is just wild!
You won’t believe this, but Glorilla has actually outsold Megan Thee Stallion! Megan’s album sold about 5,000 copies less than Glorilla’s, which is pretty wild, especially considering that Megan had a much bigger promotional push. She had a larger budget for her music videos, put on impressive performances, and even went on a full tour! Yet, here we are with Glorilla coming out on top, and I find that really interesting.
When you think about it, Glorilla wasn’t even positioned to outshine someone like Megan. Remember, she was an opening act! She wasn’t seen as being on the same level as Megan, who’s a Grammy winner and has headlined major tours. But things are clearly changing! Glorilla is now outselling the main act, which suggests that she might be stepping into that coveted “it girl” spot in female rap.
It’s almost like the industry is starting to nudge her into the role that Cardi B left behind. I mean, Cardi hasn’t dropped an album in what feels like forever, and the excitement around her music seems to have faded a bit. That said, I don’t think Cardi should be counted out just yet, but it definitely looks like Glorilla is being groomed to take over.
Honestly, I didn’t see this coming at all. I expected Glorilla to be more of an underdog, but I’m really happy for her! This is a great opportunity, and I hope she can keep up the momentum and continue growing as an artist. That’s going to be crucial for her moving forward. People are into Glorilla’s music now, but can she evolve? Can she show more versatility? Only time will tell, but her growth will be key to her lasting success.
Let’s talk about Future and whether he’s starting to regret his beef with Drake. It seems like some rappers are having second thoughts about going against him. This year, Drake has had quite a few feuds—not just with Kendrick Lamar but also with Rick Ross, The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, and of course, Future and Metro Boomin. Interestingly, Future and Metro were the ones who set the stage for the tension between Drake and Kendrick by allowing Kendrick to jump on their track, where he threw some serious shade at Drake in response to the song “First Person Shooter” by Drake and J. Cole. That track really kicked off this whole feud.
Now, it looks like Future is reconsidering his role in all of this. He seems to realize that being part of this drama isn’t doing him any favors. What caught my attention was when Young Thug, tweeting from prison, said, “Drake, Future, Metro Boomin—we’re all brothers. Music ain’t the same without us collaborating.” Future retweeted that, which says a lot! It shows that these artists really do need each other, and Drake needs them just as much.
Sure, they can all do well on their own—Future is always dropping mixtapes and making waves, so he’s not going anywhere. But it’s clear that the hip-hop scene is struggling right now. The genre feels stagnant because the big names aren’t working together. There’s a lot of tension; people have turned against Drake, and even Gunna is catching flak. What happened to the collaborations that used to define Atlanta’s music scene? Without those partnerships, the music feels dry, and the excitement is gone.
This year, female rappers have really stepped up and carried the genre, while the guys have been a bit quiet. Apart from Rod Wave with his emotional tracks, the only guy really thriving seems to be Kendrick Lamar. Most other mainstream rappers aren’t seeing the same success, and I think they might be starting to regret their decisions. Future definitely seems to be one of them.
Honestly, I don’t think Future’s issues with Drake were as serious as those with some of the others. Sure, he called Drake a fake friend, and that probably relates to some behind-the-scenes drama, but it’s not something that can’t be fixed. If I were in Drake’s shoes, I’d be hesitant about forgiving Future or reconciling with Metro Boomin, especially considering he made a diss track about my BBL. It’s a tricky situation. But ultimately, it’s up to Drake. I wouldn’t be surprised if he and Future ended up working things out. They probably talked behind the scenes already, and honestly, I don’t think the drama between them runs that deep.
Now, let’s talk about P. Diddy. He’s once again in hot water, facing yet another lawsuit involving two unnamed celebrities. It’s hard to be surprised at this point; the once-powerful mogul, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, is currently dealing with a staggering 120 lawsuits, all represented by the Buzby law firm. Recently, one particular case caught everyone’s attention: a lawsuit from a 13-year-old girl, who, along with several other minors, is accusing Diddy of some truly disturbing actions.
This girl claims that not only did Diddy violate her, but another unidentified male celebrity also assaulted her while an unnamed female celebrity watched. According to her lawsuit, this incident happened back in September 2000 when she was trying to get into the MTV Music Video Awards. Since she didn’t have a ticket, she approached different limousines for help. Eventually, P. Diddy’s driver stopped for her, picked her up, and took her to an afterparty.
At the party, she signed a non-disclosure agreement and accepted a drink. After taking the drink, she felt dizzy and decided to lie down in one of the bedrooms. That’s when Diddy, along with the unnamed male celebrity and the unnamed female celebrity, walked in. While she was out of it, both Diddy and the male celebrity allegedly took advantage of her, while the female celebrity just stood by and watched.
Reading this story left me with so many questions—seriously, where were this girl’s parents? It’s hard to fathom how she ended up in that situation alone at such a young age. How could she have gotten into that kind of environment without supervision? It really makes you wonder if she was trafficked. It’s a scary thought, but with everything going on, it’s definitely something to consider.
Now, the big question everyone’s asking is about the unnamed male and female celebrities involved in this mess. There’s a lot of speculation floating around about who they might be. Personally, I don’t have any insider info, but I can’t help but look back at the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards. Remember Diddy? He was definitely around Jennifer Lopez at that time. I’m not saying she’s the unnamed female celebrity, but it’s hard not to wonder when names are being kept secret like this. If these allegations turn out to be true, Diddy absolutely shouldn’t be allowed to walk free! And it’s worth noting that he’s not alone; there are about 25 minors out of 120 victims who have come forward!
Every new detail that comes out makes me more and more disgusted. I just want this whole operation shut down, and I want everyone involved to be exposed. Anyone who has taken advantage of kids needs to face the consequences.
So, what do you think about this whole situation? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
