Hey everyone, welcome. Today, there are a couple of topics I’d like to delve into. Let’s kick things off with Blac Chyna. Recently, she had some thoughts to share about the Kardashians. Taking to her Instagram story, she posted: “If they were black, they’d call it ghetto, but they’re all baby mamas.” When I stumbled upon this, my initial reaction was, “Well, looks like Blac Chyna isn’t holding back.” But the real question is, did she speak the truth? Well, Blac Chyna wasn’t exactly wrong. I mean, if we take a glance at the Kardashian clan, a significant portion of the sisters are indeed mothers. Apart from Kendall, Kylie Jenner shares parenthood with Travis Scott, Chloe has a child with Tristan Thompson, Courtney with Scott Disick, and Kim, well, she would’ve been Kanye’s baby mama if they hadn’t tied the knot. So, Blac Chyna’s observation holds some weight. She’s also right about the different treatment black women receive in similar circumstances. Let’s not forget the criticism Sierra faced when she had a child with rapper Future prior to marrying Russell Wilson. People unfairly judged her and reduced her to merely being part of Future’s circle of baby mamas, despite her impressive achievements as a multi-platinum-selling artist and entrepreneur. Even after she tied the knot, there were still negative remarks thrown her way.

Some individuals went as far as labeling Russell Wilson a simp for his decision to be with her. It’s astonishing how differently they treated Sierra compared to the Kardashians. Despite the Kardashians engaging in cursing, fighting, and having relationships with rappers and athletes, they don’t face the same criticism. Blac Chyna, on the other hand, is often labeled as ghetto. In fact, Blac Chyna claimed in her lawsuit that Kris Jenner, the Kardashian matriarch, referred to her as ghetto. However, in all honesty, Blac Chyna isn’t all that different from the Kardashians, aside from their backgrounds. When you compare her to someone like Kim Kardashian, the disparities are minimal. Let’s set aside their wealth and social status. Both gained fame through adult entertainment—Blac Chyna as a stripper and Kim as a porn star. They’ve both been romantically linked with numerous celebrities and have children with rappers. Both have also starred in drama-filled reality shows and are savvy businesswomen. They’re quite similar, which is why they were once friends. Yet, Blac Chyna is looked down upon while Kim is celebrated, solely because Kim is white and Blac Chyna is black. It’s a lamentable truth that Blac Chyna spoke about honestly.

Moving on to the next topic: Tamar Braxton. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tamar Braxton disclosed that she has rekindled her friendship with Tamera Mowry. If you’re curious about their falling out, let me shed some light on it. Tamar was part of the hosting panel on “The Real,” alongside Lonnie Love, Tamara, Jeannie Mai, and Adrian Bailon-Houghton. However, Tamar was abruptly let go from the show without any explanation. She vented her frustrations on social media, alleging betrayal by someone.

She refrained from dropping names, yet whispers began circulating, casting suspicions on some of the co-hosts. The hosts found themselves unfairly shouldering the blame for Tamar’s expulsion, fueling tension among the ladies of “The Real.” Even Tamera, once close to Tamar, distanced herself due to the unwarranted accusations. Fast forward several years from Tamar’s departure, she managed to maintain her friendship with Adrienne, but a recent reconnection with Tamera sparked hope. It all unfolded on Instagram when Adrienne shared a video featuring herself and Tamera. Tamar’s reaction, a broken heart emoji followed by a teary-eyed one, prompted Tamera’s heartfelt response: “Hi, Tayte, I miss you.” Tamar reciprocated, expressing her longing and more. This exchange paved the way for their reconciliation. Reflecting on their tumultuous relationship, Tamar admitted to the estrangement, but expressed her fondness for the bond they once shared. Grateful for the opportunity to reconnect, she acknowledged the healing power of time. In a candid interview, Tamar expressed her openness to mend fences with other former co-hosts. The aftermath of Tamar’s departure was rife with controversy and speculation, especially regarding the circumstances of her exit. Lonnie Love, one of the co-hosts, found herself under scrutiny, with allegations swirling that she played a role in Tamar’s dismissal. The rumors stemmed from Lonnie’s former writer, Cookie Hall, who asserted that Lonnie actively worked to oust Tamar. However, Lonnie vehemently denied any involvement in Tamar’s termination, though Tamar remained unconvinced, siding with Cookie’s account.

She received a barrage of information that shaped her beliefs, and while I may not entirely endorse her approach, it’s hard to fault her entirely for her reaction. Tamar seemed caught off guard, seeking answers and readily embracing certain rumors. Later, she discovered that WeTV, the network she was formerly associated with, allegedly barred her from further appearances on “The Real,” leading to her termination. This revelation became one of the key factors prompting Tamar to sever ties with WeTV. Frankly, it was a revelation to me as well. I had heard whispers that the network I was working with at the time would allow conflicts to play out publicly, leaving some of us, including Lonnie, to bear the brunt. Tamar was blindsided; there were gaps in her knowledge, and her reactions were fueled by emotion, culminating in a severe mental breakdown following her experiences with WeTV. She endured a lot during that period. Now, she’s receptive to engaging in conversations with some of the hosts, particularly Lonnie Love, with whom tensions have simmered due to Tamar’s belief that Lonnie orchestrated her dismissal—a claim Lonnie denies. There’s a pressing need for dialogue between the two, with much left unsaid. Both have expressed a willingness to engage, which is promising. Personally, I prefer closure in relationships, a clear indication of where we stand. Lingering unresolved issues in public spheres can be unsettling.

I believe our foundation should always be rooted in communication, openly acknowledging our faith in each other. Personally, I feel there’s much that needs to be voiced, perhaps more than hugs exchanged. These wounds, ancient and deep, stem from a profound love we once shared. Yet, forgiveness is a cornerstone of my existence. Just as I seek forgiveness for past immaturity or misunderstandings, I extend that same grace. Even if it means taking the first step, I am willing. I hold hope that Tamar and Lonnie might one day reconcile, finding solace and healing in dialogue.

Shifting gears, let’s delve into the realm of music. Reflecting briefly on the recent iHeartRadio Awards, it marked a significant return to live events post-COVID restrictions. The absence of social distancing fostered an atmosphere of pure enjoyment. Among the standout performances, H.E.R.’s tribute to Elton John showcased her immense talent, while Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s collaboration dazzled the audience. Ariana Grande and The Weeknd delivered powerhouse performances, with Ariana hitting impressive notes. Usher, despite an eyebrow-raising outfit choice, commanded the stage with undeniable flair, reminding us of his enduring brilliance. His influence on the R&B scene remains unparalleled, paving the way for artists like Chris Brown and The Weeknd.

Equally captivating was Doja Cat’s consistent excellence in her performances. Her rendition of “Kiss Me More” with SZA at the Billboard Music Awards was yet another testament to her artistry.

I enjoyed her dance break, and SZA’s performance was solid too, but I favored her rendition at the iHeartRadio Awards. One thing worth noting is how Doja Cat clearly drew inspiration from Missy Elliott. The whole vibe took me back to when Missy rocked “Pass That Dutch” at the VMAs a few years back, even recreating that iconic alien abduction scene. Perhaps Doja did it as a homage to Missy, considering she’s been vocal about crediting her inspirations. Remember at the Grammys, she acknowledged Janet Jackson’s influence on her “Feedback” music video. So, it’s likely she paid tribute to Missy Elliott as well, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Doja nailed it, as usual. She’s consistently impressive with her live performances. Her win as Best New Pop Artist at the iHeartRadio Awards is well-deserved. Also, big congrats to Megan Thee Stallion for clinching another award for “Savage” featuring Beyoncé, winning Best Collaboration.

Speaking of Megan, let’s talk about her collab with DJ Khaled, Post Malone, Lil Baby, and The Baby on “I Did It.” I gave it a listen, and Megan absolutely killed it. Actually, everyone brought their A-game, especially Lil Baby. They rode the beat effortlessly, elevating the track. Without their verses, it might’ve fallen flat, but they delivered, making it a potential summer hit.

Now, let’s show some love to other artists. Firstly, 7th Streeter deserves a shoutout. She’s been quietly dropping fire, particularly with her latest single “Guilty.” I caught some of her performances, and she impressed me. It’s puzzling why she’s not getting the attention she deserves. But one thing’s for sure, 7th Streeter remains a consistent force in delivering quality music and top-notch performances. Major props to Sevyn Streeter.

I’m eagerly anticipating her album release. As an independent artist, I’m fully committed to supporting her. Justine Skye is another independent artist who’s been consistently delivering quality content. Her latest single “Twisted Fantasy,” featuring Rema, showcases captivating Afrofuturistic visuals that perfectly complement her music style. Justine has truly embraced this concept, and it suits her well. Additionally, Ezinma, a talented violinist, seamlessly blends classical and hip-hop influences in her music. Her latest single “House of Bach” and album “Classical Bae” are must-listens, as she skillfully modernizes classical music. Beyoncé recently teased new music, sparking excitement within the music community. Her projects always command attention and set cultural trends, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her next release. Normani, whom I consider the next big thing in this generation, has completed her album and is hinting at an imminent single release. Her social media posts suggest something iconic is in the works, leaving fans like me eagerly awaiting her full music project. I can’t wait to witness what she brings to the table this era. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to like, comment, and share your views. Thanks for watching, and until next time, take care!
