Today, I’m excited to talk about Beyoncé and Rihanna’s deal with the Olympics. But before we get into that, I want to thank Babbel for sponsoring this video.

They offer many languages to choose from, but I decided to learn a bit of French. Here’s a phrase I learned: “L’addition, s’il vous plaît,” which means “Can I have the check, please?” I’m getting the hang of it, and you can too!

Summer is here, and so are summer travels. With just 10 minutes a day, Babbel can help you speak like a local on your next trip. Right now, you can use my link to get 60% off your Babbel subscription. So, which language are you going to learn with Babbel?

So, let’s get back to the topic. I want to discuss Beyoncé and Rihanna’s new deals with the Olympics. Not long ago, Rihanna announced that her brand, Fenty Beauty, is teaming up with the Paris Olympics this year. And now, Beyoncé has jumped on board too. She just released her commercial for the Olympics, which I think is a pretty big deal. This comes right after she endorsed Kamala Harris, who might become the next president of the United States.

Beyoncé is really strategic. She’s using political marketing to not only boost her own image but also to represent her country, which I think is fantastic. But I can’t help but notice that after Rihanna said she was partnering with the Olympics, Beyoncé announced her partnership too. I’ve also seen Beyoncé promoting her hair care brand, Sacred. I’m not sure if Sacred is directly involved with the Olympics, but Beyoncé is a savvy businesswoman. She’s not going to miss a chance to promote herself, her products, or her music. She always has a plan.
I think Beyoncé partnered with the Olympics after finding out that Rihanna did the same. It feels like Beyoncé and Rihanna have a bit of a healthy competition going on. They’re not tearing each other down but are definitely aware of what the other is doing. First, they were competing in music, and now it’s the beauty market. Beyoncé is probably watching Rihanna’s marketing moves closely because she’s seen how successful Rihanna has been with her Fenty Beauty brand.

Beyoncé seems to want to build a similar empire, focusing on having a passive income stream. Music is hard work, and touring is exhausting. By diversifying her income, she can make things a bit easier for herself.

And it’s not just Beyoncé doing this. Lots of artists like Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga launched beauty brands after Rihanna’s success with Fenty Beauty. They’ve shifted some focus from their music to these ventures because beauty brands can bring in a lot of money without the constant grind of the music industry.
Rihanna is perfectly happy enjoying her billion-dollar empire from selling makeup, clothes, eyeliner, mascara, bras, panties, and more. She’s thriving with her business ventures and doesn’t feel the need to put in the effort to promote her music and perform. She’s content where she is, which is why she’s not in a hurry to get back to music.

I think Beyoncé is looking to do the same. She seems exhausted with the music industry, and it’s evident. Fans have been asking for new visuals, but she hasn’t had the time. Touring doesn’t excite her much either. In her “Renaissance” documentary, it was clear she was worn out, especially when she had to perform with an injured leg.

People don’t always see the struggles artists go through, but I’m doing my best to take it one hour at a time. We’ve become like machines with our constant work, hustle, and high expectations. I haven’t had a day off in four days, and I still have a few more days to go. So, it’s understandable why Beyoncé wants to find other ways to make money. She’s probably inspired by Rihanna’s success and wants to follow her lead, and who can blame her? Rihanna is winning, and Beyoncé is too, but she doesn’t want to keep working as hard as she has been.
Alright, let’s talk about JT. She recently got into a spat with some of Nicki Minaj’s fans. I don’t have all the details, but I did see a clip on Twitter. In it, one of the Barbs accused JT of talking badly about Ice Spice, Yung Miami, and Cardi B during a phone call. This fan also mentioned that JT gave him some money to help with his rent. It looks like JT was trying to get close to some of Nicki’s fans and even sent money to a few of them. But somehow, things went south, and now this whole mess is all over the internet. JT has been called out for allegedly trash-talking some of her peers.

JT called me to vent about the Barbs, and she talked a lot of trash about Lex, who’s a Barb, along with Keisha and Ice Spice. I recorded the whole call, and it seems like everyone wants to see me, Mars, get upset. Well, for the first time in the last six months since I started this page, you’re genuinely seeing me upset.

It’s no secret that I told you Tavia stinks or that if the Barbs are talking about you, you should ignore it because they were just talking about you. It’s no secret she paid my rent if I said she paid my rent. Instead of addressing me directly, you send shade because you know you talked about Ice Spice and Keisha on that call. Post the call, JT, because you were talking about them after you made up with Keisha. Do me a favor and post the call. How about that?

You spent an hour on that phone, talking so much trash about so many people. You’re delusional, so don’t threaten me. Post how you said Cardi would be mad when you started charting on Billboard but haven’t charted yet and were only on there for a week. Don’t ever threaten me, saying you’re going to post my text messages. Post them.

I was ignoring JT because she wants to use this fan base, which I’m a part of, for her rollout, but I wasn’t going to let her do it. But you know what? The album flopped so hard that I could say her name 50 times and it wouldn’t amount to even 20K sales, and that’s why I ran off with your $1,400.

When I heard about this, I was genuinely confused. What is really going on? Honestly, I believe JT made a mistake. I get that she wants to grow her fan base and is trying to gain support from Nicki Minaj’s fans because the Barbs are known for their strong support. However, I think she’s approaching this the wrong way. It’s not beneficial for her to pander to a fan base that isn’t hers. It would be more effective for her to cultivate her own fan base, leading to more organic support.

Additionally, venting about peers online is not a smart move. I hope JT learns from this and stays focused. It’s also not right that she talked about Karisha. I understand she had issues with Cardi and Ice Spice, especially with the rumors about her boyfriend, Uzi, allegedly trying to get with Ice Spice. But Karisha was her former group member and friend, someone who supported her while she was in prison. She shouldn’t be discussing her with outsiders.

JT needs to avoid getting caught up in Stan Twitter, focus on promoting her music, and engage with people who genuinely support her.

Let me know what you all think about this in the comments below.
