Kids, remember that drama I mentioned earlier? Well, it’s still brewing. Recently, Akbar V unleashed some serious heat on Cardi B, especially after Cardi brought up Akbar’s late mom. This isn’t the first time these two have clashed, but this time, things escalated. Cardi went a step too far, leaking a video of Akbar on Twitter, which led to a major fallout and Akbar hitting back by bringing up Offset’s infidelity. She even suggested Cardi’s marital troubles were karma for meddling in her family affairs. Cardi stayed silent on that front, but when Akbar revisited the issue recently, Cardi had had enough. If you’re scratching your head over how this feud ignited, let’s rewind a bit. It all began in 2022 when Cardi and Glorilla dropped their mega-hit “Tomorrow Too”. Cardi celebrated the success on Twitter, but Akbar accused her of inflating the numbers. Drama ensued, and the rest is history.

Before this, Akbar and Cardi had already been throwing subtle insults at each other. Cardi, fed up with the nonsense, responded with a tweet: “Count all the times chart data posted you. I don’t really like the internet games. My DMs are open, and so are the streets. I don’t need to tag. I can change a life with just a mention, and yes, I reached out directly. I don’t play games on the internet.” Despite this sharp retort, Cardi eventually reached out to Akbar privately after obtaining her number. However, despite Cardi’s attempt to resolve things discreetly, Akbar returned to Twitter, publicly criticizing Cardi for reaching out privately and even sharing screenshots of their private messages. Akbar then escalated the situation by involving Cardi’s family, alleging that Offset had called her to intimidate her into stopping her comments about Cardi. Offset swiftly denied this, stating, “That’s not my number. Why would I call you when my girl is already handling you?”

The conflict escalated swiftly from mere trash-talking and leaked messages to Cardi viciously targeting Akbar’s mother when Akbar suggested in a tweet that Cardi and her sister Hennessy were assaulted. Akbar taunted, ‘I warned you, keep an eye on your family. How come you and your sister ended up like that?’ Cardi’s response was cutting: ‘You know I don’t joke about family. Go dig up your mother, bee.’ But Cardi didn’t stop there; she continued to lash out at Akbar and her mother in response to another tweet where Akbar insulted Offset and praised Saucy Santana. CI was furious and retaliated, ‘Your mom must be dancing in her grave every time you abandon your kids to perform on camera.’ CI wasn’t holding back against Akbar. And if that wasn’t enough, she even posted a video on Twitter of Akbar engaging in explicit activity, proving she had the evidence to back up her claims. But Cardi didn’t stop there; she seemed to mock Akbar’s children and taunted Akbar for not having custody of her five kids. Ouch. She remarked, ‘I’m about to do something you’ve never done—pick up my kid from school. You’ve got 20 minutes to talk trash because after that, I’m focusing on my kids all day.’ This caused Akbar to have a major emotional breakdown, prompting her to tweet, ‘Cardi B just triggered some serious trauma. Now my kids have to witness this again. Cardi B, it’s despicable of you to publicly shame me once more; you’ve stooped so low.’

“It felt like a sudden plunge back into anxiety,” she remarked coolly. The feud seemed to have simmered down after Cardi removed the contentious post. Yet, just a few weeks later, Cardi took to Instagram Live, visibly distraught, as news broke of Offset’s recurring infidelity with yet another mistress. Akbar seized the opportunity to stir the pot, hopping onto Instagram Live to suggest that Cardi deserved such treatment as karma for her previous remarks about her mother.

“Listen, sister, stand tall. I’m calling you out. I need to see your strength. Unlike you, I don’t air out family business. You brought my kids into this mess, plastered images all over. Well, that’s what happens, right? I remember when you did something similar last year, and folks called you out for it. Now, you’re shedding tears over the same thing. I have no sympathy for you. You’ve been pulling strings behind the scenes, but now the tables have turned, and it’s you who’s in tears. That stings, doesn’t it? And as for him, well, he’s headed for a downfall. Why? Because you can’t mess with me. One thing about me, I don’t crack.”

Cardi chose not to engage with Akbar’s tirade, already weighed down by her own issues, of which Akbar wasn’t one. However, this didn’t deter Akbar from continuing to mention Cardi, as she did once again recently, criticizing those who failed to support her when Cardi spoke about her deceased mother, contrasting it with the attention given to Nikki’s comments on Megan’s late mother.

She expressed, “Isn’t this my issue, though? Where was the empathy when it concerned me? It’s like, ‘Oh, she deserves it.’ Cardi B has said worse things about my mother, yet not a soul objected. Now, Nicki says a line in a rap, and suddenly everyone’s in an uproar. People are so selective. Let’s not forget, Akbar’s family was brought up first; it was a rap battle. But where was the compassion when someone attacked my mother and children? Akbar brought up a valid point. If we’re playing fair, Cardi should have faced the same backlash as Nicki did when she dragged Akbar’s mom into the feud. It was unnecessarily messy. Cardi could have confronted Akbar about mentioning her sister and husband without bringing up her late mother, just as Nicki could have responded to Megan without mentioning her late mother. But, as always, everyone has their opinions on this chaos. Like the person who mentioned, ‘Akar, you keep inserting yourself into beef that isn’t yours. Cardi didn’t start with you; you started with her to align with Nicki. Weren’t you just talking about not engaging in this behavior anymore when your daughter was in the hospital? What happened to that? Focus on yourself; Nicki can handle herself.’ Another individual compared Akbar to a ‘Karen,’ always meddling and causing drama where it’s not needed, trying to provoke reactions and garner support when she should’ve stayed out of it.”

Now, I’m curious about your take. What are your thoughts on Cardi bringing up Akbar’s deceased mother? And do you believe Akbar was justified in calling out the lack of criticism towards Cardi compared to Nicki?
