So, let’s talk about this wild situation involving Remy Ma, her husband Papoose, and world champion boxer Claressa Shields. Things are messy, to say the least.
Apparently, Remy Ma called out her husband, accusing him of messing around with Claressa Shields. Yup, the same Claressa Shields who’s known for being a world champion boxer. Now, if this was just about Papoose, you’d think Remy would be in the right to be mad, right? But here’s the catch—Remy’s past isn’t exactly squeaky clean either. Word on the street is she’s cheated on Papoose before, allegedly juggling two boyfriends. So, yeah, not much room to talk there.
But back to the drama. Remy took to social media and let it all out. She said:
“Papoose, dumb self, fell asleep on the phone with Claressa Shields laying in my house. He refuses to leave. This supposed-to-be world champion boxer got scared and hung up as soon as she heard my voice. Now I’m telling everything! Ooh, and baby girl, you’re not the only one.”
If that wasn’t enough, Remy posted some screenshots of text messages between Claressa and Papoose. In one of them, Claressa told Papoose:
“You take accountability. You are the one who’s married. If you can’t at least sleep on the phone with me or be with me in person, it shouldn’t be a big deal to let me know you made it home safe or to communicate. You fell asleep in the Sprinter.”
From the texts, it’s clear Claressa seems pretty serious about Papoose. She’s asking about his whereabouts and everything. But Remy is NOT having it. She’s now accusing Claressa of smearing her name in the media.
Here’s what Remy said on her Instagram story:
“This lady Claressa and that sorry publicity team been putting out fake stories on me every day to make me look bad and him look like God’s gift. For too long, I begged Papoose to put out something to stop the narrative, and he kept telling me, ‘Just stay quiet, that’s the best thing to do.’ Well, I’m tired! Oh, and he said he would never f** you ‘cause you ugly. But don’t worry—I saw everything. Now the world’s going to see it too since you so tough, boo!”*
Whew, the shade is real. While all of this is playing out, some people are pointing out that Remy’s history of infidelity makes her calling out Papoose a bit hypocritical.
At this point, the drama is just getting started, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think there’s any truth to the allegations? Let me know in the comments!
Remy shared screenshots of Claressa freaking out over this whole drama going public. And honestly, the timing couldn’t be worse for Claressa—a movie about her life, The Fire Inside, starring Ryan Destiny and Brian Tyree Henry, is dropping on December 25th.
The last thing she needs right now is people accusing her of messing around with a married man. It’s not a good look. In the texts, Claressa was urging Papoose to handle Remy. She wrote:
“I know you hate the internet games, but you need to do something today about this girl. My PR team is going to freak out when they see this. I can’t be out here exposing her, etc., before December 25th. The movie’s coming out. You got your other phone yet? LOL. Don’t worry, I’m not worried about anything she says or posts. I just need you to clear it up as soon as possible.”
In another message, Claressa expressed how she was feeling:
“I ask for gifts—I’m tripping. I express I’d like flowers—I’m tripping. I want time set aside dedicated to me—I’m tripping. I don’t know how to feel. I’m just laying here feeling stupid.”
Well, Claressa, what can I say? That’s what happens when you’re dealing with someone else’s husband.
Remy, on the other hand, didn’t hold back. She went off, saying:
“Papoose, you effing dummy! Hey Michi, he took your advice, but not before I screenshot y’all’s convo. Oh, he was getting me arrested—the woman who stayed loyal for 17 years—while plotting with one of his chicks to destroy me. The same woman I could’ve exposed using my platform. I’ve got all your pics and messages from the chicks while I was away and he was ‘holding me down.’ Ooh, f*** your movie, ma! Sidebar: He’s about to say he wrote my rhymes. Imagine that! And if anything sexual leaks about me, it was him—he’s already threatened that too.”
Remy also shut down Claressa’s claim that she has two boyfriends. Claressa had posted:
“How a woman with two boyfriends mad at a man that has a girlfriend?”
To that, Remy clapped back:
“Hey Michi, I’m a one-boyfriend woman. Remy, you’re still married! You shouldn’t have a boyfriend, the same way I was a one-husband woman. And I’m a good woman at that, which is why MFs won’t just go. Oh, and he’s never going to buy you anything ‘cause he thinks he’s the prize. He’s a taker, not a giver. Plus, I’m the one with the bag, LOL. Please stop playing with me, ‘cause I’m not the enemy you want. I’m not even mad—actually, I’m very happy—and that’s why your boyfriend is mad. Oh, and I know you said you feel stupid, but you look stupid too. #HeNeverKnockedNobodyOut—that was a lie—and neither will you, so relax.”
Yikes. But let’s not forget—Claressa is a world champion boxer. She’s absolutely capable of knocking someone out, as long as no weapons are involved.
Then again, Remy’s not exactly known for fighting fair. Let’s not forget she once shot a friend over money and did six years in prison for it. So yeah, she’s definitely the type to bring a gun to a fistfight.
Meanwhile, Papoose decided to jump in and call out Remy Ma, straight-up calling her a narcissist. He said:
“Sad to say that Remy is a narcissist. She chose to cheat repeatedly. Now that I’ve finally moved on, she’s playing the victim. I have requested a divorce numerous times. She’d rather clout-chase on social media than handle this like civilized adults. I did not want to do the social media foolishness for the sake of my six-year-old baby, who has to go to school. As you can see, I remained quiet through all of this. I would never get anyone arrested. Once again, you are lying, and that can be easily verified. You are the one who played with police. Lying about history that unfolded in front of the world is pathetic. Falsifying text messages you claim are from over a decade ago just to create a false narrative and justify cheating is narcissistic behavior.”
Papoose recently posted a picture of Remy Ma with her supposed side guy, Eazy the Block Captain, a battle rapper. He had some harsh words to say in the caption:
“While I was at home with my daughter last Christmas, this is where Remy was. Now that I’ve finally moved on, she’s angry and spreading lies. #Narcissist. I told her we could divorce like adults, but she refuses. She wants me to lie and say I didn’t knock this guy out. I still have the messages of her begging me to lie, but who cares? He didn’t even throw a punch. #SuperSoft. Last time I saw him, he was in the fetal position after I knocked him out. Remy woke him up and took him home for four days, while I went home with my daughter. But now, she’s lying again. Shake my head. #Narcissist.”
This whole situation isn’t funny—it’s actually really sad to watch Remy and Papoose air their dirty laundry on social media like this.
Remy fired back, saying she was, in fact, with her daughter on Christmas Day. While she might’ve been with Eazy on Christmas night, she showed receipts to prove she spent Christmas Day with her daughter—and that Papoose was there too.
She also accused Papoose of having a serious gambling problem and said she’d tried to leave him quietly for years. However, he allegedly pressured her for money to make their divorce go smoothly.
She continued by revealing some of Papoose’s manipulative behavior, saying:
Papoose wasn’t happy when she started a battle rap league and began promoting other rappers, including Eazy, her current boyfriend. Remy claimed that Papoose confronted Eazy at an event, knocking him out. But Remy said Papoose actually snuck into the event wearing a mask and attacked Eazy. Then, Papoose supposedly texted Eazy, claiming Remy had hired a masked man to set him up, which wasn’t true.
That’s a pretty dangerous and petty move. If Eazy had believed Papoose’s story, he might’ve retaliated against Remy, making things even worse. Remy added that Papoose then forced her to go to an awards show with him afterward to save face.
Honestly, this whole thing sounds toxic. How did it get this bad? Remy and Papoose were once one of the most beloved couples in hip-hop.
Looking back at their history, it’s clear they had a deep connection. Remy went to prison for six years for shooting her friend, and Papoose held her down through all of it. He even married her while she was still locked up. When she was released, they became one of hip-hop’s favorite couples. Their relationship seemed real. But now? It’s heartbreaking to see how far things have fallen.
Remy has also accused Papoose of domestic violence, claiming he physically attacked her. She said, “Play with the police, Papoose. You forgot the pool never got finished because you attacked me in the garage, and the workers had to call the cops to get you off me. I ain’t Eazy. Next, I’ll drop the audio and video. Keep lying.”
These are serious allegations. I don’t know what to make of this whole situation, but it’s clear that things have gotten really messy. While I don’t think Papoose is innocent, I also have to acknowledge that Remy has a temper—she’s shown it before when she shot her friend over money.
Let me be clear: I’m not justifying any physical abuse if Papoose really did attack her. But I do think we need more context on this situation. Both Remy and Papoose seem to be playing a part in the toxicity of their relationship.
I also think there’s a side to Papoose that hasn’t been fully shown. Remy might not be lying about everything, but I can’t help but feel uncomfortable with how she’s been flaunting her new relationship with Eazy in public. It almost feels like she’s doing it to get a rise out of Papoose, to prove she can be treated better by someone else.
I also think Remy likes the attention. Having two men fighting over her ego must feel good. But right now, it seems like Papoose is moving on and entertaining other women, and Remy clearly doesn’t like that. She may not want Papoose anymore, but she doesn’t want anyone else to have him either.
Their drama doesn’t stop there. Remy has also been feuding with Clarissa, who reportedly challenged her to a boxing match. Remy’s anger seems misplaced, though—it looks like her real issue is with Clarissa being involved with Papoose.
What’s interesting is that Remy posted old messages between her and Clarissa, showing that they were actually friendly in the past. Remy even reached out to Clarissa first back in 2020, giving her compliments and offering advice. But now, Remy’s upset because Clarissa is with her husband.
In one of her posts, Remy wrote: “And here’s Papo’s weirdo girlfriend wishing me Happy New Year’s a few days later. LOL. This lady was actually hitting me up for advice on how to show off her body. This is crazy. I created this monster. Praising you, knowing things weren’t right, and keeping quiet knowing the truth. You think you know what I have, so you feel comfortable lying to these people. I promise you, you’re going to regret this.”
Clarissa didn’t hold back when she responded to Remy on Twitter, saying, “I can’t believe a 45-year-old woman is acting like this. Clown behavior.” Remy, not missing a beat, fired back with, “I’m not 45 yet, but you’re 29. And let’s just say… you’re not aging like wine. But hey, I’m not your enemy. Tell your boyfriend to buy you some flowers and gifts.”
She then added, “He didn’t answer his phone because he was with his Cali girl this week.” Looks like Remy’s been keeping tabs on Papoose’s whereabouts! Clarissa wasn’t having it though. She shot back, “Making up fake texts? That’s crazy. I’m not some b** you can bully. You’re just bitter and mad. You’re making yourself look foolish. Just stop.” And then, to top it off, Clarissa challenged Remy to a boxing match: “Clarissa Shields vs. Remy Ma. February 2nd. Come get your a whooped. Crash out.”
Things got even messier when Clarissa’s ex, Tony Rich, jumped into the drama and said, “When I hit Remy, don’t be on my nuts.” Looks like he wants to be part of the mess too.
Honestly, this whole situation is exhausting. Remy and Papoose need to just call it quits—there’s no way their marriage is going to survive this. Clarissa also needs to move on. She’s got so many good things happening in her life right now, and she doesn’t need to get caught up in this kind of drama. She shouldn’t be involved with a married man, especially one who’s dealing with all this mess with his wife. It’s just way too much.
