Hey everyone, Today, we’re talking about Tia Mowry and her new reality show on W TV called My Next Act. In the teaser, Tia opens up about her divorce from Corey Hardrict and shares her feelings of loneliness, which I found really interesting. She mentioned that she decided to end her marriage to rediscover her happiness—a journey she feels she hasn’t really had the chance to take until now.
Tia has always been surrounded by people. Growing up, she was always with her sister, Tamera, and then she quickly settled down with Corey. They were together for over 20 years and married for 14, so she never really had time to explore who she was or what she wanted. Tia realized that she wasn’t happy in her marriage, which led her to seek a new path.
In a heartfelt moment, she reflects, “You and your husband, like many couples, realized it was better to live apart than together?”
“Exactly. But how did you know it was the right time?”
“That’s a great question. I started to figure it out when I began focusing on my happiness. After losing my grandmother, it was a wake-up call. It made me realize that life is short, and I needed to prioritize what truly matters—my peace, my joy, and my happiness.”
It’s a powerful reminder that sometimes we have to take a step back to really understand what we need.
When I hear Tia talk about why she left her marriage, I can’t say I think she’s wrong. It’s really important to prioritize your happiness, and staying in a relationship where you’re unhappy can take a toll on your mental and emotional health. I totally get why she made that decision. But I can’t help but feel she didn’t fully think through the impact it would have on her kids and herself.

It’s been really tough for her. Just from watching her trailer, you can see she’s struggling. Dating again isn’t easy for her, and she admits, “But the one thing that I don’t have is love.” It’s also heartbreaking for her to see her children no longer living in a two-parent household. She’s always wanted that family dynamic, and now, every time she drops her kids off, it hits home that it’s not the same anymore.
Post-divorce, Tia is finding it hard to deal with being alone. She opened up about not being as close to her sister Tamera anymore: “Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce. There are times I wish my sister and I were still close enough for me to just call her. But we’re not there right now. I just really don’t want to feel alone.”
I found it interesting—though not surprising—that Tia and Tamera have drifted apart. They’re living completely different lives now. Tia is all about Hollywood and acting in Southern California, while Tamera has settled into life in Northern California, focusing on her family and helping her husband with his winery. Sure, Tamera might pop up for a Hallmark movie every now and then, but for the most part, she’s all about family life.
They’re living in totally different worlds, and honestly, they’re just very different people. If you’ve watched Tia and Tamera’s reality show, you’ve probably seen how their relationship dynamics can really clash. They often don’t see eye to eye—whether it’s about business, parenting, relationships, or even their core beliefs.
Tia is more free-spirited and liberal, while Tamera is on the more conservative and traditional side. Some might say she shares her husband Adam’s viewpoints too. It seems like Tia isn’t super close with Tamera’s husband either, but that could be a whole other topic! These fundamental differences definitely create some distance between them.
“We’re very different.”
“How so?”
“My sister is very traditional, and I feel like the black sheep of the family. I like to push boundaries and do things differently. Take our parenting styles, for example—she sticks to tradition. I wouldn’t call her narrow-minded at all, but I have a broader perspective on a lot of things. She’s comfortable with what she knows, while I’m the one taking the leap.”
“Yeah, I think that’s the biggest difference between us. Religion plays a part too. I’m really into learning about different cultures and religions, while she seems pretty content with her own beliefs. I’m always exploring, thinking, ‘This might work for our family, but it doesn’t quite fit me.’ Honestly, I’m even hiding my crystals from my family!”

Tia is such a riot! I love her humor, but she and Tamera definitely have some real differences that can put a strain on their relationship. One thing that stands out is how they communicate. There was this episode on their reality show where Tamera was getting married and wanted Tia to be her bridesmaid. But Tia was pregnant and busy with a lot of other stuff, so Tamera ended up asking her best friend, Andrea, instead. That really upset Tia; she felt like she missed out on special moments with her sister at the wedding. But Tamera was frustrated too, saying, “You were nowhere to be found! What do you mean?”
Tia was so focused on how she felt that she didn’t see the bigger picture, which led to a big argument because they both struggled to express their feelings clearly.
During the wedding planning, Tamera felt like Tia wasn’t around much, and that really hurt her. She pointed out, “Honestly, Tia, you weren’t there during my wedding weekend. Now you’re saying I did something wrong? Seriously?” It often seemed like Tia was being selfish by not prioritizing their sisterly moments.
They also had some business challenges. They had planned to work on a website together, but Tia worried Tamera wouldn’t take it seriously since she was living in Napa. Tamera assured her she was committed. But then Tia took an acting job without telling Tamera, leaving her to deal with the mess. This kind of thing happened often; Tia would get so busy with her work that their plans fell through. She feels the need to take every opportunity to provide for her family, which I get, but it’s tough for Tamera when Tia makes promises and then backs out.
I can see why they don’t collaborate much these days—they’re just on different pages.
By the way, my agent mentioned a network is interested in doing a show with us. I’ve been working on that because I was already in talks with someone. So why didn’t we have that meeting?
We were waiting on you. You were busy.
Why didn’t you just call me about it? If there’s an issue or something you want to discuss, just reach out!
You know, a lot of people don’t realize this about my sister and me, but nothing has ever come easy for us. We always seem to have to work extra hard for everything we do, and there’s always some sort of challenge in the way.
Take Tia and Tamar, for example. Their relationship is complicated, and there’s always something going on between them. They have some serious differences, which means they aren’t always going to get along. With their busy lives, they don’t talk as often as they probably should. And when they do have to sort things out, it doesn’t always go smoothly.
Right now, I imagine it’s even harder for them to communicate. Tia just got out of her marriage, so she’s really vulnerable. Any comment that feels unsupportive could set her off, and Tamar definitely wants to avoid that. I think that’s why she’s given Tia some space.
This distance might be the reason they’re not as close right now. Tia has jumped back into reality TV, and I found out about it just like everyone else. Will you be joining her?
She didn’t ask me.
Really?
So, I guess that’s a no? Are you okay with that?
Absolutely. It’s her story to tell, and I completely respect that.
Can I ask, are you and Adam trying to set her up on any dates? Playing Cupid at all?
Honestly, Tia is focused on her own life right now. It feels like she doesn’t want our input, and I totally respect that. She’s just doing her own thing.
That’s Tamar’s take on it. She didn’t get involved in Tia’s reality show and is giving her the space she needs. I really hope they can work through their issues someday because, at the end of the day, they’re sisters. They might have their differences, but there’s love there.

On another note, Chloe Bailey recently shared that her label hasn’t given her a budget.
During a TikTok Live session, she opened up about why she hasn’t been performing much or been visible lately. She mentioned that her label hasn’t approved any budget for performances.
When someone asked why she hasn’t been on stage, she said, “Trust me, I would if I could! But performances cost money, and that needs to be funded. If I could, I’d be performing everywhere.”
She reassured her fans, saying, “You know I love to work. I balance a lot—like when I shot ‘Fight Night’ while preparing for Coachella. It’s never about my work ethic or my desire to perform.”
It’s really unfortunate for Chloe. Her project “Trouble in Paradise” didn’t get the attention it deserved. I actually liked that album a lot, but it didn’t get any promotion at all.
She’s signed to Beyoncé’s Parkwood label, but she’s also under Columbia Records. It seems like Columbia is the one holding the budget, while Parkwood’s role is to promote her. Sadly, neither label has really prioritized her lately.
With her album “In Pieces,” she had a lot more visibility—features, performances, and promotions. At the start of her solo career, it felt like the label was really pushing her, but that enthusiasm seems to have faded.
You know, I really think the label is mostly focused on the numbers—sales, streams, and chart positions. They keep a close eye on those stats, and if things aren’t looking good, they tend to pull back their support. They want to make sure they get back what they invest in an artist, so if they don’t see a return, they often lose interest. It’s a tough situation.
But what I really admire about Chloe is her resilience. She works so hard, and nothing is going to stop her from chasing her music dreams. Even though her label hasn’t given her the budget for live performances, she still managed to upload a whole concert on Instagram. She’s really giving her fans what they want while doing what she loves.
Because she’s staying consistent and putting in the effort, I truly believe it’ll pay off for her in the end. It might not seem that way right now, but she’s going to get her chance to shine without any limitations.
