Summer Walker’s story starts in Atlanta, Georgia, where she grew up as a shy and imaginative child. Spending much of her time alone, she found solace in creating music. Her parents supported her passion by gifting her musical instruments, and she soon began crafting songs that showcased her natural talent.
Before she became a household name, Summer worked several jobs, including flipping burgers at Five Guys, running her own cleaning business, and even dancing at a gentleman’s club. Life took a major turn when she signed with Love Renaissance, an Atlanta-based music label. In 2018, she dropped her debut EP, Last Day of Summer, which captured hearts with its raw emotion and relatable storytelling.
Today, Summer Walker is one of R&B’s brightest stars, with three studio albums and multiple mixtapes under her belt. Her music resonates deeply with fans, but her personal life—including her physical transformation and turbulent relationships—has also sparked plenty of conversations. Some fans have raised concerns about whether the pressures of fame have pushed her to chase unattainable ideals of beauty.

Finding Confidence and Love
In a 2019 interview with fellow R&B artist Ari Lennox, Summer opened up about her decision to enhance her appearance. With a mix of humor and honesty, she joked about having a “long back that ran straight into her cheeks” and revealed she got butt shots to achieve a more curvy figure. While the procedure helped her feel more confident in her body, she still found herself longing for something deeper—real love.
Her journey to love began not long after the release of her first studio album, Over It, in 2019. The album was executive produced by London on da Track, and their professional relationship soon blossomed into a romance. Reflecting on their first date, Summer shared on Instagram that it was anything but ordinary. They went bowling, hit the mall, visited a strip club, and ended the night at his home. With her signature humor, she added, “I was being a thot, and then I think I couldn’t hold my liquor, lol. But it was lit!”
Stay tuned as we dive deeper into Summer Walker’s life, her music, and the ups and downs that have shaped her into the artist we know and love today.
Summer Walker’s life has been a mix of triumphs and challenges, both in her career and personal life. After starting a tour, she had to cancel it, citing struggles with social anxiety. At the same time, her relationship with London on da Track was falling apart, marked by breakups and rumors of infidelity.
Adding to the drama, rumors surfaced that Summer had undergone a nose job. According to online reports, the surgery didn’t go as planned, leading her to sue the plastic surgeon for $500,000. Though the lawsuit wasn’t confirmed, fans noticed something was different when she appeared on Instagram Live. Observers quickly pointed out that her nostrils seemed to be collapsing, with some even drawing comparisons to Lil’ Kim—a comment that added fuel to the fire.
By August 2020, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Harrison Lee claimed responsibility for her new nose. Known for working with Caitlyn Jenner, his involvement sparked mixed reactions among fans and critics alike.
Amid all this turmoil, Summer and London discovered they were expecting their first child together. In March 2021, she gave birth to their daughter, Bubbles—a name that drew comparisons to Michael Jackson’s pet monkey of the same name. Questions swirled about London’s parenting, with one of his children’s mothers calling him an absentee father. Summer also publicly expressed frustration, calling him the “worst baby daddy on the face of the planet” in a since-deleted post.
Despite their split, Summer wished they could have at least maintained a healthy co-parenting relationship. In interviews, she admitted struggling with postpartum depression, largely due to a lack of support. “I was really depressed, and it wasn’t about the child. I loved her. I just needed help,” she shared.
The two officially ended their relationship after two years, with Summer addressing the heartbreak in her second album. The music detailed her feelings of being unseen, her partner’s alleged infidelity, and the difficulties of moving on. On social media, she accused London and his mom of sporadically visiting their daughter, only to disappear again.
Despite the emotional setbacks, Summer began to embrace her body with newfound confidence. In March 2021, she shared before-and-after photos of herself, praising cosmetic enhancements with the caption, “Thank God for ass shots.” The post sparked mixed reactions, with some fans preferring her natural look and others speculating she might be battling body image issues.
By the time her daughter was one, Summer had moved on with rapper Larry “Lvrd Pharaoh.” Their relationship blossomed quickly, culminating in matching face tattoos—hers reading “Larry” and his “Summer.” While some fans celebrated their love, others raised concerns about the pace of their relationship.
Soon after, Summer revealed she was pregnant with twin boys. While excited about expanding her family, she joked about how her pregnancy had undone the results of her cosmetic procedures. “Now all the money went down the drain,” she quipped, lamenting stretch marks and sagging.
Through it all, Summer Walker has remained unapologetically herself. Her openness about her struggles with love, motherhood, and self-image has only deepened her connection with fans. Despite the chaos, she continues to push forward, proving her resilience time and time again.
How about taking a break from all those surgeries and maybe trying therapy instead? Seems like a better investment, just saying.
Summer and Larry broke up before she gave birth to their child in January 2023. After the split, Summer shared her thoughts on Instagram:
“Larry is an amazing father, but there are just certain things I won’t tolerate. We’re both really happy with our kids, and we’re just living our lives.”
One month after giving birth to her twins, Summer posted a video online, and fans immediately noticed she had altered her appearance again. This time, she had gotten a dimple made.
“Fix it, Black Jesus.”
Dimpleplasty is a procedure where a surgeon makes a small incision inside the cheek, removes some muscle and fat, and then attaches the remaining muscle to the skin. After it heals, it creates the look of a dimple.
Fans weren’t shy about their opinions, calling her out for “ruining” her face. Some even advised her to take a break from the surgeries before she did permanent damage to her body.
A few months later, after her twins were born, Summer began dating rapper and actor Lil Meech. In April 2023, rumors started circulating that Meech had cheated after a video surfaced showing him entering an unknown woman’s apartment. Summer and Meech broke up by August 2023, but they were seen together again in October. By now, it seems their relationship is truly over.
In her 2023 song “Hard Life,” Summer sang about wanting the kind of life that white women seem to live. The lyrics go like this:
“Tired of seeing all these Spanish and these white b— living their soft life,
With their feet kicked up and their glass in hand,
Bills are paid, thanks to the man.
Knows how to lead, and he’s got a plan,
Faithful and helps run the house and with the kid.”
So, is this a reality she can achieve? Probably not.
Sorry, Summer, but that ship has sailed. There are plenty of Black women living their soft lives, but they didn’t jump into relationships with just any man or have kids with them. They held onto their value. I know it might sting to hear this, but it’s the truth.
Music fans quickly jumped in, calling Summer out for making choices that led to three kids in three years with two men who didn’t provide the life she seemed to want.
One fan responded:
“You’re upset about other women living a soft life? You could’ve had that, Summer. Keep your legs closed.”
Well, that was a mic-drop moment.
In April 2024, Summer sparked rumors she was dating a musician named Coupe Cashington after sharing a birthday photo of them together. One fan commented:
“Summer, go be with your kids and let a good man find you. The ones you keep finding ain’t it.”
And honestly, they might have a point.
As of now, it seems Summer and Coupe aren’t together anymore, but rumors say she has a new man in her life.
In November 2024, Summer posted a picture holding a bouquet of flowers in front of a sign that read, “Will you be mine? Yes or No.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments, urging her to focus on her music. One even commented:
“Just don’t get pregnant.”
I couldn’t agree more.
At the end of the day, Summer will do what feels best for her. Whether or not more surgeries are in the works is unknown, but one thing’s clear: she’s hoping to expand her family.
In a post, she said that her next baby daddy—or husband—better be rich because raising her three kids is expensive.
Or maybe it’s time to retire from the baby-making business, Summer. Just a thought.
It also seems like Summer’s dealing with some personal things as she works on her next album. In a December 2024 post, she shared that she hadn’t been home for a month and was feeling overwhelmed, missing her kids.
She wrote:
“Women should never have to work if it means being away from their kids. This is so trash.”
We hope she makes it home soon to spend time with her children. We wish her all the best.
