Hello everybody, welcome. There are a few topics that I want to talk about by congratulating Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj for having their first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts over a week ago. Doja released a remix to her song “Say So,” and actually got Nicki Minaj to hop on the track, and together they were able to make this song go number one. And it is a big deal because this is not only Doja and Nicki’s first number-one song, but it’s also the first time that a female rap collaboration reached number one on the Billboard charts. Also, Nicki is the first artist to have number one hits on every Billboard chart. So, this is a big deal. Both Doja and Nicki made history. They did it for the culture, and I’m happy for them. I’m proud. This is a great moment in music right now.
Also, I want to say congratulations to Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé because their “Savage” remix did peak at number two on the charts. This is actually Megan’s highest charted song to date, and also this is Beyoncé’s 19th top 10 hit, and it’s also her first top 10 hit of the decade, making her officially have top-ten hits in four different decades. So, this is a big deal for Beyoncé and Megan as well. However, I do think that Beyoncé and Megan had a chance to go number one on the charts, but they let that opportunity slip through their fingers. And I can’t put the blame on Megan because Megan did her part. She promoted her song every chance she got. She did challenges, she was promoting TikTok dances, she was doing everything she could to promote the song. However, Beyoncé was silent. She didn’t really do much to promote the song. And I do think her influence would have really helped the song go to number one because, let’s not forget, she was the one who actually boosted the song up to the top 5 in the first place. And all she had to do was send out a tweet or post a video on Instagram or do something to get the song trending, but she didn’t do it. And I guess she didn’t feel like she had to because she already did enough by hopping on the song anyway. But still, her promotion definitely would have helped the song go number one.
Doja and Nicki really nailed it with their song promotion. Doja’s team especially excelled in this aspect, dropping a dance video and a stellar performance upload, giving the song a significant streaming boost. Moreover, the fans played a pivotal role, propelling the song to number one. Their efforts and strategic moves definitely earned them the top spot. Zooming out, though, the ranking isn’t the ultimate focus. What truly matters is the groundbreaking achievement: four women rewriting Billboard history. For the first time ever, four women of color, including one half-black artist if we’re being precise, dominate the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. That’s monumental.

Meghan celebrated the achievement on Instagram, expressing gratitude to her fans: “Hotties, we just hit number two on the Hot 100. We’ve come so far. I promise to keep working hard and getting better every time. Thank you all for growing with me. Look at all this girl power.” Nicki also took to Instagram to thank her supporters: “Can’t thank you guys enough for going so hard this past week to help us make history. I saw it all. You’ll never understand how much you uplift me with the overwhelming love and support you continue to show. I love you so much. Like, so much, so much.” Additionally, Nicki showed appreciation to Doja Cat: “Dear Doja Cat, thanks for trusting me with your baby. Hope I lived up to your expectations. You’re so extremely talented and so deserving of this moment. What time are you showing your boobs? Love, Nick.” On her Instagram Live, Doja expressed gratitude towards Nicki: “Thank you to, first and foremost, Nicki, and thank you to her for being, I mean, so what’s the word, just for caring, and just who she is, and accepting, and warm, and sweet as she is. I feel like collectively we have, okay, we have Nicki, we have Meg, we have Beyoncé, we have me, we have everybody else, all the females in the game right now. I feel like we finally hit a point where there’s no more, we’ve all realized that we don’t have time to just be against each other. Like, I feel like we’ve kind of hit that mark where, like, we’ve hit the light at the end of the tunnel. As maybe a dramatic and weird as that sounds and corny as that sounds, it’s not corny, it’s great. I’m so happy that the women of rap and the, you know, of pop have been able to come together, especially in an unexpected ending chaotic time that it is right now. We’ve learned, we’ve shown that we can learn how to king thrive with each other. How cool is that? What a beautiful kind of healing feeling. I don’t like when I rhyme when I talk, but you know what I mean. To have Meg, Beyoncé, me, Nicki, all at the same time killing, and even amongst all the [ _ ] that everybody was trying to kind of pit, obviously women have been pitted against each other and this is looking so not that. We, we, we’ve climbed over that. And that’s cool. So, I wanted to say thank you, Nicki. Thank you, Nicki Minaj, so much. And thank you, oh my god, to the [ _ ] Barb’s. I’ve never in my life seen anything like that ever. That’s, it’s really, it’s really, really, really cool. Thank you so much for the support. Is my point. And wow, that was really nice. Major congrats to Doja, Nicki, Beyoncé, and Megan.”
Alright, shifting gears to the next topic: the latest installment of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion. Last night marked the premiere of part one of season 12’s reunion, and it was an episode filled with intense moments and plenty of shade. I have to hand it to them, it was quite the entertaining reunion, with the ladies bringing out their boldest and sassiest selves, perhaps emboldened by the virtual format. The reunion kicked off with fireworks as Nene and Eva exchanged heated words, followed by a showdown between Kenya and Nene, and then Porsha and Eva adding fuel to the fire. The back-and-forth banter was cutthroat, to say the least. While Porsha and Kenya definitely stole the spotlight, Nene and Eva made sure to leave their mark, particularly Eva, who was notably outspoken throughout the episode. However, despite her attempts, she couldn’t quite match the verbal jabs of Nene or Porsha, who had her on the ropes with their sharp comebacks.

Some clips from the episode showcased Nene and Porsha delivering some cutting remarks towards Eva, who seemed to have brought it upon herself by inserting herself into conversations where she didn’t belong. It’s evident that Eva was seeking to make a statement at the reunion, possibly due to feeling the pressure of her standing on the show. Rumors have been circulating that she might lose her peach due to being labeled as boring and lacking a compelling storyline. Thus, Eva tried to stir up drama in the weeks leading up to the reunion, even engaging in a social media spat with Nene after feeling slighted by Nene’s insinuation that she wasn’t an essential part of the cast. This exchange hit a nerve for Eva, as she felt that Nene was questioning her relevance on the show, something she couldn’t afford to take lightly given her financial stake in the series.
Who’s up next? Gary’s brewing his tea, and apparently, it’s about this very fair-skinned lady named Meaning. I’m buzzing with anticipation because I’ll have plenty to say. People keep asking me about Nene’s storyline, even though she claims she doesn’t have one. She’s clearly bothered, feeling threatened, and resorting to insults about edges, right? Well, if you’re coming for me, you better pack a good bag, load up on vitamin C, and whatever else the elders need, because you’ve picked the wrong target.
After Eva laid into Nene, they took their spat to social media. Eva was needling Nene, challenging her to show her face without makeup, and Nene fired back, demanding Eva reveal her real body. That’s the crux of their beef now. Eva tried to take Nene on at the Reunion, but she was swiftly shut down. She couldn’t keep up with the shade, lacking the quick wit to handle the situation. She could’ve taken a page from Kenya’s book for some pointers. “You wish you were flawless [ __ ]. This is longer than they like a white woman and dragged. Shut the hell up, booty.” Am I watching the Real Housewives reunion or a scene from “White Chicks”? Eva could’ve definitely taken notes from Kenya.

Let’s dive into the Porsha and Eva feud. It all started when Eva made some remarks about Porsha’s c-section and her child, which didn’t sit well with Porsha. Apparently, Eva was miffed because Porsha relayed something she said to Kenya. Eva expressed hesitation about bringing her kids to Kenya’s party, citing concerns about the vibe. When Porsha shared this with Kenya, Eva felt betrayed and retaliated by throwing shade at Porsha and her child. Eva referred to Porsha’s daughter as “Dennis with a bow,” clearly intending to insult. While some may argue that Eva was merely stating a resemblance to the father, the underlying intent was to jab at Porsha. Understandably, Porsha was upset and confronted Eva during the Reunion. However, Eva wasn’t the only one crossing lines about children; Kenya made a derogatory remark about Nene’s kids resembling her, and Porsha also took a swipe at Eva’s child. It’s disappointing that the discussion veered into such territory during the reunion. Moreover, Eva’s refusal to acknowledge the offensiveness of her “nappy head” comment towards Kenya and Porsha didn’t reflect well on her. Despite the drama, the reunion remained entertaining, and anticipation lingers for what unfolds next. Rumors suggest Porsha might reveal some damning evidence of Kenya badmouthing Cynthia, adding another layer of intrigue to the saga. Overall, while the reunion showcased some unsavory moments, it kept viewers hooked for what’s to come.
In closing this video, it’s with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the recent passing of three music legends. Over the weekend, the world bid farewell to soul singer Betty Wright, who succumbed to endometrial cancer at the age of 66. Wright was renowned for timeless hits like “Cleanup Woman,” “Tonight is the Night,” and “No Pain, No Gain.” Her vocal prowess, including her distinctive high whistle register, set her apart in the soul music scene. Rest in peace, Betty Wright.
We also mourn the loss of Andre Harrell, a pivotal figure in the music industry, who passed away at 59 due to heart complications. As the founder of Uptown Records, Harrell shaped the careers of icons like Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Heavy D, Teddy Riley, Al B. Sure, and notably, Biggie Smalls. His contributions were instrumental in spotlighting black music artists in the ’90s, leaving an indelible mark on the culture. Rest in power, Andre Harrell.
Lastly, we pay tribute to the incomparable Little Richard, the architect of rock and roll, who passed away at 87 after battling bone cancer. Despite his groundbreaking contributions, Little Richard’s impact often went unrecognized. A pioneer in every sense, he not only shaped the sound of rock and roll but also influenced countless artists with his flamboyant style and electrifying performances. His influence extended to legends like Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Elton John, and Prince. Despite facing adversity, including attempts to undermine his success, Little Richard’s legacy remains immeasurable. Rest assured, his influence on music will resonate for generations to come.
“Let it be acknowledged, he reigns supreme as the king of rock and roll. He stands as the pioneering force and mastermind behind the genre, a title no one can dispute. “I remember them before fame found them. Jimi Hendrix, my guitarist, was merely eight years old. Billy Preston, at the age of 14, played the organ for me, and James Bond served as our vocalist, rescued from prison. This is the untold story that often eludes people’s understanding. And then there were the Beatles, two of them. I mentored Paul, teaching him the essence of hollers, screams, and the rhythmic pulse of boogie woogie. Despite never setting foot in America, they offered me a 50% stake in the group, an offer I regrettably declined. It still irks me to think about it. Yes, I declined. When I embraced rock and roll, it was a path less traveled. Understand this, I was a trailblazer when no one dared to tread. And when I introduced my signature moves, like the wobble and the Bobby like, it was unheard of. Essentially, what you’re hearing is a story of uncredited innovation. I’ve never received the recognition I deserve. They couldn’t fathom a black man being the architect of rock and roll, fearing the adoration of white youth and the screams of white girls. Yet, here I stand, a black man, undeniably handsome, though I’m not one to boast. No, I’m confident. Yes, that’s it. I don’t subscribe to vanity. Let’s be clear. My essence is enigmatic. I won’t indulge in conceit. I’m convinced.” Share your thoughts on this video in the comments section below.
